Well, if McCain wins the presidency, the libs won’t be able to say ‘why doesn’t he send his kids to Iraq’.

In many ways, Cindy McCain stacks up sturdier than Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama. And she'd make a more impressive first lady.

I don't like McCain, but Cindy is okay.

One could say something less favorable about her. She will be vulnerable to left-wing media attacks when the time comes. But on the whole I’d rather restrict my comments to McCain.

I was really impressed by her on Jay Leno. She would be a much better first lady than Hillary was or Michelle Obama would be.

“..Cindy McCain stacks up sturdier than Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama.”

Cindy makes a better First Lady than either one of the two other women, but it is her husband that I do not trust in the WH.

I had to try to like her before I read about her. She's a real philanthropist. Educated and classy in a quiet way. Their son is a 3rd year at the USNA. I have a lot more respect for her since I looked into her background. If I had one bit of advice for her I'd tell her to make her eyebrows a little darker. She has such light eyes that are very pretty but she looks a bit ghostly at times. Neither Hillary! or Michelle can compare to Cindy's elegance. I was not a big McCain person but she is definitely First Lady material.

I ain’t voting for him.

He could marry my sister and that would still be my motto.

Michelle Obama may contribute to CARE, which fights global poverty and works to empower poor women. Cindy sits on its board.

While the Democrat women talk about helping the poor and needy, Cindy McCain actually rolls up her sleeves and does it. Who's the out-of-touch elitist?

A very perceptive observation about the differences between liberals and conservatives -- liberals and Democrats talk (and want someone else to act, mainly government), conservatives take initiative to do it themselves.

The McCains want to make sure their boys get no special treatment. Same goes for their five other children, including a daughter they adopted from Bangladesh. During a visit to Mother Teresa's orphanage there, Cindy noticed a dying baby. The orphanage could not provide the medical care needed to save her life. So she brought the child home to America for the surgery she desperately needed. The baby is now their healthy, 16-year-old daughter, Bridget.

I read this story earlier this year and was really impressed. She actually brought home two babies in need of medical care, but the other child was adopted by another family.

Just how many McCain children are there?

I read different accounts. This story says 7 total, including the two he adopted from the first marriage.

But they only name Meghan, the oldest, the sons Jack and Jimmy, and the girl from Bangladesh, Bridget.

5 with Cindy, 2 from the first marraige? And the 2 from the first marraige are not his biologically?

I received this email today:

Subject: Cindy McCain

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal on Cindy McCain, John”s wife. All I ever saw was this attractive woman standing beside John. I was surprised how talented and involved with world problems she is. This is a summary of the article.

She graduated from Southern Cal and was a special-needs teacher.
After her Dad died she became involved with his beer distributing firm and is now the chairwoman. Sales have doubled since she has taken over from her father.

They have a marriage prenuptial agreement, her assets remain separate.
She is involved around the world clearing land mines - travels to these countries on a detonation team and service on their board.

They have a 19 year old serving in Iraq, another son in the Naval Academy, a daughter recently graduated from Columbia Univ., an adopted daughter in high school, and a son who is the finance guy at the beer firm.
Raised kids in Phoenix, Az rather than Washington DC.(better atmosphere) He commuted.
In 1991, Mrs. McCain came across a girl in an orphanage in Bangladesh. Mother Teresa implored Mrs. McCain to take the baby with severe cleft palate. She did so without first telling her husband. The couple adopted the girl who has had a dozen operations to repair her cleft palate and other medical problems.

They have a Family Foundation for children’s causes.
She’s active with “Halo Trust” - to clear land mines, provide water and food in war ravaged and developing countries.
She will join an overseas mission of “Operation Smile”, a charity for corrective surgery on children’s faces.
She has had two back surgeries and became addicted to pain killers. She talks openly about it which she says is part of the recovery process.

I’m surprised the media is so quiet about her attributes. She sounds more capable than Hillary or Obama. We would really get two for the price of one. A person with business and international experience. John did work for the firm for awhile when he left the Navy. She, however, has the real business experience. Very interesting.

Believe it or not, this is the first I've heard of McCain's sons being in the military and serving in Iraq. You can bet that if a Democrat candidate had a child serving in Iraq, that fact would be used to the greatest political advantage and if the Republican candidate could not say the same, that would be used against him.

Anyway, it amuses me to see so many on this board vowing not to vote for McCain. The fact is, that every single Freeper will pull the lever for McCain in November. Whether they care to admit it or not.

I received this in an email:

Why is America even having an election - it’s such a no-brainer!

On one side you have a bitch who is a lawyer and is married to a lawyer, versus a lawyer who is married to a lawyer who is a bitch.

On the other side, you have a true war hero who is married to a gorgeous woman who owns a beer distributorship !!!
