Exactly right. I completely agree.
True, but if it is going to come up for a vote, I want opposition to it.
If Hillary supports it, Republicans will oppose it.
Even if that’s only 39 people in the Senate, it would still be more than if McCain supported it.
If John supports it, Republicans will too.
Only 2 people will oppose it in the Senate, if McCain supports it.
I think there is probably a 1990s NJ in there, too.
In California, 76% of Republicans did NOT vote for McCain in the primary. Many stayed home or spread their votes among candidates. Republicans are lost--the candidates have no message and don't look much different than Democrats. Simply saying "I'm better than a 'D'" does not get these people to the polls. Moving further to the center makes more people just throw up their arms in disgust. Hopefully, this is coming to a head and a real leader and message will emerge. Seeing a President Obama might just be the spark that ignites under the electorate to get motivated and fight for their freedom instead of watching it be diminished day after day.
Conservatism does not survive one year of McCain.
Agreed.
Thanks. You take care.
Not voting for Hillary makes me an idiot in your book-—what’s that make you?
The problem is, Hillary will have opposition if she proposes the policies John will. Nobody opposes the policies John proposes.
If it is leftist in nature the RNC, the Congressional Republicans and the Democrats support John’s agenda.
Isn’t that sorta like saying John Wilkes Booth was also a pretty good actor?
The other acts of both were unforgivable.
I agree. I do understand where you’re coming from.
You take care.
Earthquake in October... Candidate(R) knocked off table and more conservative candidate jumps in.
Otherwise, we've already lost. The question then is not which candidate is most conservative but which candidate will be able to accomplish the LEAST given the relative opposition in each scenario. I'm with DoughtyOne in believing that McCain will be more successful in moving the country to the left than either of the (D) candidates.
I'll work to get conservatives elected to Congress, donate to their individual campaigns (NOT any RNC, RNCC, or RNSC committee). McCain will own the party apparatus and will be fighting AGAINST conservative candidates which will make it that much harder.
You can tell that some of these people really do mean well. They’re terrified of a Clinton or Obama administration. You can’t fault that.
They just can’t understand that placing a leftist person at the helm of thier party, utterly destroys any ability to wage war against the left. And being a leftist, this person will seek to drive true Conservatism out of the party as surely as a Democrat would seek to drive a Conservative out of the Democrat party.
Good night. I’m outa here...
Too many of the general public think that Hunter is boring, and they would never vote for him just because of that. Also, too many of the general public really don’t get into politics like FR does, and they too often vote for somebody or against somebody for non-substantial reasons (sheeple mentality). BTW, Hunter was my first choice for ‘08 POTUS, and I was seriously hoping that he would be the final choice on the GOP side.
I’m not immune to your arguement, but if we don’t start to loft men who are true Conservatives, and are not afraid to make a good case for Conservatism, then we just as well hang it up. We’ll never advance Conservatism.
It’s amazing how few leaders we have today, that can actually explain Conservative principles.
Thanks for your comment.
Me too... g’nite
This is a rather rough and poor opinion founding an important choice for a great country and the world’s future.
Founding such a crucial choice on the SUPPOSED future behavior of the Congressional Republicans under an hypothetical McCAIN’s administration is rather.... hypothetical....And Congressional Republicans are also elected so they can change!
I was precisely saying that CLINTOON’s and OUBAMA’s agenda will be CERTAINLY much more leftist than McCAIN’s or words don’t mean anything and you should stop the electoral process
“I wish Rush wouldnt promote cigar smoking on his site. I know that one once in a while is no big deal, but those are pretty bad for your health and can produce some awefull mouth cancer.”
There is very little in life that’s considered “fun” or “good” that doesn’t involve risk of some type. Under no circumstances do people live forever, but a whole lot of them seem to have forgotten that.
Death to the nanny state! :P
I agree but you are wasting your time with the make believe Republicans here. They'd rather see the entire country be torn down by the likes of a Billary or the magic Negro just to "teach the GOP a lesson" then elct a man who while certainly not perfect is light years better then either of the other two libs.
I think a few states have closed primary systems, but it seems doubtful that many more will go in that direction.
We don't see much party discipline these days, but the situation for the Democrats with Florida and Michigan a exception.
