Let's Put this Freepathon to Rest
My own thoughts... | 05/01/08 | DoughtyOne

Posted on 05/01/2008 11:41:37 AM PDT by DoughtyOne

Hello Folks:

It's May 1st and I'd like to ask you for a little help. The current Freepathon started on April 1st. Here we are a month later and the total given or pledged is sputtering toward the finish line. I appreciate everyone's constributions to date. It's impressive that we come together like this to support the forum. Despite the great job that has been done, I still think we can do better.

We are still thousands from the goal. I'd like to put a big dent in the amount remaining to be covered. Will some of you please join me to end this today.

As soon as I hit the post key, I am going to contribute $100 more to the Freepathon. I would appreciate it if others would join me, and we could retire this Freepathon by late this afternoon.

Those who can, please join me with $100. Those who can't, how about $50 or $25.

We're not that far from the goal. A little over Fifty of us could end this thing. Are there fifty of you out there willing to join me?

How about it?

Thanks in advance to those who do join me. I appreciate it and I know Jim and John will also.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable to want to know how the money’s spent, and I would think Jim and John Robinson would appreciate your interest. You can post to either of them and ask (though, as I’m sure you know, Jim’s laid up right now).

No biggie... just thought there might be some folks sitting on the fence (like I was) wondering these things. It might help in fundraising to know more (then again it could backfire!).

hey yourself! I noticed about the coffee pot. Get a Bunn, it won’t break. Other than the lack of coffee, how are things going out your way?

Thank you. As you ca see, I’ve been here since FR was a baby. I’ve watched it grow up; even helped from time to time with it’s challenges. I can’t imagine life without it. Why would I complain about being asked to help support it? Anyone who has ever been on a live thread during a major event knows the value of this site.

I just bought (yet another....) Mr. Coffee...are the Bunn’s calcium-proof???

That’s ALWAYS the problem.

Things are FINE my way......and you?

Texas sux anyway......too many snakes and stuff.

I am shocked at your lack of reverence and respect. Is this what you do when I don't monitor your every move? I sit here happily skimming threads and find this HERESY from la la land! Texas is da bomb. Those snakes are prize snakes and our stuff is the biggest stuff in the world. So there!

The Bunn is the best coffee maker out there. I've never had one to go bad. I get a new one about every ten years just because, and put the old one in the yard sale. Calcium proof as far as I know.

Out our way it's spring. Been doing the spring planting in my yard. Got overexerted and came down with a spring cold. It's been a real pain to get rid of. Unusual for me to catch a cold. Otherwise, things are just busy as usual. Tourist season gearing up, so I will be doing some summer fun things with that (tour guide). I'm really looking forward to Mama_Bear and Jeff's visit in July. She and I are counting the days now. I have a lot of things to get done before they come.

Well.......but how many pots do you make a week???

I’ll NOT admit anything on an open forum as to how much I drink...not that it’s not OBVIOUS!

:)

Sorry to hear about that cold! You mean you held off, all winter, thru the flu season and just now got sick? That is SO not fair!!!

I don’t know, from what I’ve seen I think Texass do have the biggest heads, but not much else...

Now, California, there’s a great state. Everything is just the right size here. It’s heaven on earth. ;-)

To: potlatch; All

Potlatch points out that we’re within a whisker of $70k. We’ve pulled in right at $3K his afternoon, and have only a little more than $2K to go.

Thanks very much folks. Excellent.

I have appreciated folks playing around in there to keep the thread bumped. It’s been fun, thanks to you all.
