TARPON SPRINGS - Police were called to the home of DC Madam Deborah Jeane Palfrey's mother on Thursday to investigate her apparent suicide.
Police have confirmed that the dead person is Palfrey who was 52.
Palfrey was dubbed "The DC Madam" by the national media after her arrest for allegedly running an upscale call girl ring in the nation's capitol.
I believe the girl who was harrassed by her “friends” on the computer hung herself.
I'll bet one was written directly to her mom...And I'll bet Mom knows a lot.
Interesting response from Larry Flint:

“But Flynt hinted at much juicier material to be unearthed.
“Let me put it this way, there were more Democrats on it than Republicans,” he said, supporting his theory that the only reason this case was of interest was because of the number of Democrats who could be targeted by the Bush administration.
But Flynt said his conversations with Palfrey were off the record, and if any investigators come knocking on his door for names, they’ll have to look elsewhere.
Flynt said the only person who might know more about those conversations with Palfrey is Moldea, who was working with Palfrey on a book. Flynt said he has no financial stake in that book.”

“Four days ago, the woman known as the “D.C. Madam” stood in the lobby of her condominium building near downtown Orlando, musing about the future.
Deborah Jeane Palfrey said she was preparing for federal prison. She hoped she’d get time off her sentence for good behavior. She thought she might buy a place in Germany one day.”

Who commits suicide four days after ‘musing on a future in Germany?

“On Monday, Palfrey seemed no different. She carried clothing, briefcases and suitcases down the stairs from her second-floor apartment to a rented car in the parking lot, stopping to chat as usual.
She told Strizack she was taking her property to her mother’s home in preparation for prison. Contrary to the U.S. Attorney’s Office estimate, she told the condo manager she thought she might spend six or seven years behind bars.
On one trip down the stairs, she lugged a 2-foot-wide box she suggested carried materials related to her infamous court case.
“This is my evidence,” she told Strizack before carrying it out the door.”

WHERE IS THIS BOX?
This story is not over imho.
“Its fun to speculate, but she was facing a long time in prison and it probably is just what it looks like.”
Agreed, based on what I know so far (she hung herself, right?)
Yes, she also left a hand written note and had previously told a TIME reporter that she would not go back to prison, she would kill herself first.
Much to the disappointment of the tin foil crowd and knee jerk speculators it appears to be exactly what it is.
She was moving "evidence" for a reason. I think she was threatened and went to Mom's for "Protection" and used her for a confidant.
Very, very suspicious.
Bump to read later.
Janet Reno’s people
“.....had previously told a TIME reporter that she would not go back to prison, she would kill herself first.”
What TIME reporter? Can you link it please? It is my impression that the only person saying that she would ‘kill herself’ is Dan Moldea...not a TIME reporter. It would be helpful if you could link me to the story where a TIME reporter is saying that she told him/her that.
Thanks!!
Yep, I misread the article, I thought he was a Times reporter, but he is just a writer who talked to the time reporter.
See, my tagline is what is is for a reason....
Thanks for the clarification. Google Dan Moldea(the ‘writer’). Or just visit his site:
See this article for a little background on him:
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/07/AR2007080702078.html
He also had a run-in with FR in 1999 during the Clinton Administration (he was Clinton sycophant)
see post #151 in this thread.
You have to admit that this ‘story’ is interesting and worth more than a cursory investigation.
Yes, so far, he seems to be the only one claiming--that I know of--personal knowledge of Palfrey having said that. Conversely, Palfrey has said in interviews that she feared for her life and that an untimely death could be made to look like a suicide.
But would this supposed-black book (if it exists) really be of that much value? Palfrey had already released her voluminous phone records, which is how Vitter was outed...interestingly, by Moldea. Whether such a book exists or not, there'd certainly be value in people believing it exists, whether for blackmail or self-promotion.
Let’s hope that some reporter somewhere will get to the bottom of this, since it looks like the ‘officials’ will do nothing!
‘Nothing to see....move along’ and all that jazz.
Thanks for your thoughts.
You might be interested in my post #203 and #204 this morning. Once you mentioned Moldea yesterday, my radar went up and I had to tighten the rivets on my tin foil cap....LOL!
My radar is still going off on this story. Just heard that Fox News is ‘investigating’ this story behind the scenes and will have more coverage on it this weekend.
I guess we will know more as time goes by.
This is NOT Tarponcide.
Leni
Gonzo,
Might as well turn yourself in and confess now..... After all, you are on record as having evil thoughts about Clinton!
:~)
wow great minds think alike, lol
And Ron Brown died in a plane crash.”
And Vince Foster comitted suicide...
And the 2 kids on the railroad tracks died with bullet holes in the back of their heads comitted suicide.
Authorities better be very careful about this....
