The more I hear Jeremiah Wright speak the more I think Hillary should give him a raise! Jeremiah set out to prove he’s not a total racist nutjob and did a good job of proving he’s a total racist nutjob.

First he had to tackle an interview with Bill Moyers, who took the gloves off with questions like, “When did you hear the call to ministry, how did it come?” and “What did you think when you began to see those VERY BRIEF sound bites circulating as they did?” Moyers then went for the kill! “What is your notion of why so many Americans seem not to want to hear the full Monty?” wondered Moyers, giving Wright the full Monica. (Which is probably why the “interview” is now available only on porn channels.)

Moyers spent an hour forgetting to ask Wright the details of Reagan’s controversial program of creating AIDS and injecting black people with it to kill them off — a big setback in the search for a cure.

Then it was off to the NAACP dinner, where he mocked the accents of presidents John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, then revealed that the brains of white people work differently from the brains of black people and that black kids can’t learn from books the way white kids can and that black kids won’t stay behind their desks and tend to hang on the teacher to ask for stories because black kids have different brains. Whites = left-brained. Blacks = right-brained. (I’m having trouble processing this. I have a Hispanic brain — which side should I use?)

After his lunatic white-black brain address, the nut-brain got praised by the ‘Corporate-Owned Media’ because he gave a whole speech without once yelling ‘God damn America!’ — but that was only because he lifted the speech from Jimmy the Greek. Wright also got praised for not vowing to incite riots everywhere if Obama doesn’t win.

Then it was off to the National Press Club — or, as I call it, ‘preaching to the choir’. Wright complained that the news media quoting Wright about “chickens coming home to roost” and about America being the same as al-Qaeda and about the Marines being the same as the Roman legionnaires is an attack on the black church, not Wright — although he’s appointed himself as The Black Church.

For weeks, libbies had insisted hysterically that the ‘sound bites’ from Jeremiah Wright’s wonderful sermons had been taken out of context. Wright told Moyers he had traced the origins of all the misunderstanding to TV channels taking him out of context. So, Monday he put ‘chickens coming home to roost’ in context by insisting 9/11 was America’s chickens coming home to roost: “You cannot do terrorism on other people and expect it never to come back to you.” Wright said his AIDS comments had been taken out of context, too, so he set the record straight: “Our government is capable of anything.” ‘I read it in a couple of books!’ His ‘God Damn America’ sermon was also taken out of context, so he cleared the air by explaining that America “never apologized” for slavery and for nuking the Japanese, so God Damn America. His Lifetime Achievement Award to Louis Farrakhan was also taken out of context, so he cleared it all up by saying “he is one of the most important voices in the 20th and 21st century!” Who else can call for a Million Man March on the Mall and get a third to show up?

But! Wright then insisted he doesn’t loath America-the-Oppressive-AIDS-Injecting-Genocidal-Racist-Terrorist Empire because he served in its Roman legionnaires. How many years did Timothy McVeigh serve?

If Obama set out to prove he can rack up more damaging scandals at once than the Clintons, he’s done swimmingly. But on Tuesday Obama said, enough is enough! He said he’s “outraged” by Jeremiah’s latest comments, which he never heard before, or he heard but disagreed with, and that he’s hereby “denouncing” Jeremiah, or not Jeremiah but his comments. A denouncement We Can Believe In! Jeremiah was only reiterating stuff running for weeks on YouTube, but now he really went over the top! Obama’s so offended, he probably sent the church another $26,000 donation. As someone recently told Bill Moyers, “He’s a politician, I’m [Obama’s] pastor. We speak to different audiences. And he says what he has to say as a politician. I say what I have to say as a pastor. Those are two different worlds. He does what politicians do . . . he had to respond to the sound bites, he responded as a politician.”

Sen. OBlankSlate till now had gotten by solely on fluffy words and pretty speeches without troubling himself to fill in the blank slate, but Crazy Uncle’s slow-motion Dean Scream is charmingly changing all that, and whether you fall on the right side or the left side of Jeremiah’s brain divide, it’s doubtful Obama’s latest ‘I denounce my mentor’s comments and pledge to unite both sides of the brain in a post-racial, post-brainial politics’ is going to send the same sensations crawling up Chris Matthews’s leg the way Obama’s Philly speech did in March.

In a way it’s not a matter of left or right brain, but rather a no-brainer that Obama would hang around Trinity for twenty years and get pastorized by some loser racist Farrakhan wannabe tantalizingly echoing back Obama’s loathing of his mother’s race, and rolling up ‘black authenticity’ street creds for himself while at it. But when the inevitable ‘Obama the Muslim’ stories got planted by the Clintons, Obozo rolls out ol’ pastor Jeremiah to ‘reassure’ ‘whitey’, but it’s a heckuva hapless maneuver when your ‘mentor’ and ‘sounding board’ sounds more like Ayman al-Zawahiri than Billy Graham. Checkmate.

If Obama’s chickens are coming home to roost, it’s because you cannot do racial identity politics on other people and expect it never to come back to you, to paraphrase Jeremiah.

It is very slow everywhere, Amy. I think everyone is just in the mode of “wait for the other shoe to drop”... not only this kind of thread, but news of many types, too...

Only place things are really hopping right now is the stock market and other financials for the last couple weeks. Seems like things are breaking open - anticipation of things six months out...

Other news is very slow - science, space, computer-related, tech, iraq, global warming, other terrorism - all is plodding along pretty much in a well determined direction. And everyone is pretty much just watching the SnObama-Hitlery-Demodog fiasco and eating popcorn.

Good morning, Amy. Thank you for your compliment in your first post yesterday. I'm off again to help a friend with "Garage Sale" - was gone most of yesterday helping her get ready. This surely is a 'record' for pings, huh! Sorta like President Bush's latest Approval Ratings. :( I hate that he is so unpopular. To me, Clinton was and will always be the worst president in history. (Well, at least the most unscrupulous)
