Former GOP presidential candidate and close McCain friend, Fred Thompson, is set to join the presumptive GOP nominee during his visit to North Carolina next week. Since losing the South Carolina primary on Jan. 18, Thompson has been absent from the limelight-even choosing to drop out of the race via written statement.

We can hope that he picks a somewhat conservative running mate ...

What will you do when he does not?

Give it a rest? And watch my country be destroyed by people who vote like it’s a high school contest?
When hell freezes over, babe.

It’s time for everyone to get off the stick and realize we are going to have a lot more of the conservative agenda moved forward with John McCain than with either Clinton or Obama.

Man, you are smoking crack!

After another form of McCain/Kennedy goes through and 30 million illegals are dem voters, and
after the Lieberman Global Warming embezzlement of America passes, and
after McCain/Feingold is expanded, and
after he closes GITMO, outlaws waterboarding, and grants terrorists access to our legal system,

which part of our “Conservative Agenda” is left???

You did not look at the poll. No you didn’t.

And you brought up the subject of polls.

And there is no sales force here in this person. There are objective observations of trend which you fail to see or pay attention to. As for your lame comment:

“Ask 100 Americans of they want tax reform and 95% will say “hell yes”, me included. Let them hear BOTH sides of the fair tax and it’s dead in the water.”

That’s not a poll. That’s not even an accurate observation. That is HOT AIR.

Here’s the link and facts of the Michigan poll on the FairTax:

http://www.fairtax.org/site/News2?page=NewsArticle&id=9755&news_iv_ctrl=1521

********************************************************
The National Federation of Independent Business-Michigan, in a February survey of members, found 52 percent of respondents in favor of the Fair Tax proposal, 32.6 percent opposed and 15.4 percent undecided.

That support and opposition is reversed from a 2007 NFIB poll that was taken when a similar Fair Tax proposal was being considered to replace the SBT. That poll found 32.4 percent in favor of the Fair Tax, 57.3 percent opposed and 10.3 percent undecided.
********************************************************

That’s a huge swing that is in the process of replicating across the nation.

Here’s another trend fact for you:

There are now 75 Cosponsors of the FairTax in Congress, the largest reform movement in Congress today, the largest tax reform block in our lifetimes. Not even Ronald Reagan’s tax reform had as many sponsors in Congress.

And of the 75 FairTax Cosponsors in Congress, there were only 54 just two years back. That’s a 39% increase in support and there would be more and will more.

And then there are the grassroots memberships that have increased in the last year and a half from over 500,000 to now over 1,200,000.

If you think all of these people are “rotting their brains” as you sniped at MAN50D in your earlier post, then I would like to hear your qualifications and credentials that give you a basis for making such a charge. The millions of people behind the FairTax movement include award winning PhD academics, honorable judges, members of Congress and former Federal Reserve Governors.

As for MAN50D, I have observed him to be tenacious, well-informed, fact-based and always willing to share reliable information. All I have seen of you is HOT AIR.

You are apparently enamored with your own HOT AIR. Enjoy it but kindly keep it away from those that choose to carry an intelligent discourse on these threads.

I recently got an Email from McCain asking for my support ($). I responded by informing him that he had my vote, my support was something he would have to earn. For example, introduce the House Immigration Enforcement Bill in the Senate. Make me believe he really “heard” us!

McCain has not reached me yet, and I don't expect much from him between now and then. He could help himself with “us” if he would adopt more of Fred's understanding of Federalism. Quit being “everyone's man” because it is not possible to please everyone...at this point, he had better be more concerned about pleasing “us” or many will just sit this one out.

That is how we got the first Clinton, and America cannot afford a (d)emocRAT of any race or gender!

“Last year, during the whole amnesty fiasco, the conservatives of America united in opposition, and held the feet of both the President and Congress to the fire. The same can be done with McCain.”

McCain was in the Congress, Ultra. What we did didn’t phase him...he kept telling us we were crazy racists right up to the last minute! You know any 74 year olds? NO one is going to tell this guy anything. At least be aware of what you’re getting.

“We have three choices,” McCain said. “One: the status quo. Two, send everybody back. Three, let them earn citizenship.”

The November 2008 choice will be between McCain and Clinton or McCain and Obama.

Not McCain and YOU.

Not McCain and ME.

And sure as h*ll not McCain and whoever you wanted to get the nomination.

Elections are not wish lists. They are choices and in America on presidential general elections they are choices between TWO people.

I cried the day Ronald Reagan passed away. But he ain’t coming back and he won’t be on the ballot.

So, while McCain is certainly not everything I wished he was and there are several problem areas that he has failed us on. The fact is, he is head and shoulders above ANYTHING the democrats have to offer.

There are hundreds of reasons to vote for McCain and push him AS OPPOSED TO THE CLINTON OR OBAMA.
Here are a few:
McCain will tax less...
McCain will hold the line on terror better...
McCain will do better on borders...
McCain doesn’t hate the military...
McCain will do more to protect the unborn...
McCain will spend less...
McCain will have more respect from foreign leaders both friend and foe...
McCain will do more to keep the death tax suspended...
McCain will hold the line on communist expansion in South America better...
McCain is LESS succored in re: global warming...
McCain will appoint better judges...
McCain will give more respect to the right to keep and bear arms...
McCain will give more respect to free speech...

Damn, just damn...

And you send me to the Fairy Tax site for a poll?

Just gets better and better...

The FairTax site referenced a poll article taken from the Crain’s Detroit Business news.

Here’s the link:
http://www.crainsdetroit.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080331/SUB/301889050/1069

And there’s a previous FR thread on it.

But of course you would not notice that because there’s nothing between the ears to give you the ability.

HOT AIR is all you have to offer.

I noticed it, why did you not link to that directly, why did you send my to the sales pitch site...

Oh yeah, outside the box...

So 52% of some small business mag poll respondents like the Fair tax, it's a stampede I tell ya!...

Now the question is if these folks have really looked at all sides of the Fair Tax, not just the slick sales pitch that tugs mightily on the almost universal hatred of all things IRS. That's a easy sale, but the fine print and realities of the Fair Tax that will come out when and if ( big if) it gets into serious consideration nationwide will be it's downfall...

But this is not a fairy tax thread so I will just point you to the search functions of FR if you want to really see my objections, ones that have been brought up by many others as well, ones that reflect the reality of business, economics and public perceptions...

Of course like all other such movements I know that to read anything negative is a no no and all us who object are just fools in denial...

You think that business people don’t know how to evaluate tax reform. You likely think as you sniped about before that their brains are rotting. Nobody knows anything but you. That makes you a nonsensical heckler.

What are your credentials? Do you have any? I suspect you have none. So what gives you standing to tell others with more experience and knowledge that you know better?

These questions have already been answered by your responses. You are merely a purveyor of HOT AIR.
