What, pray tell, could Barack Obama possibly say now to undo the damage of his two decades of bad judgment about Jeremiah Wright?
Will he weigh in on black liberation theology? Wright's phrenological discourse? How about Wright's defense of his comparison between the Roman soldiers who killed Jesus and the US Marine Corps?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Maybe we'll find out:
Obama was asked about Rev. Jeremiah Wright just now by a woman in Winston-Salem who tells the audience to watch his PBS interview, which will quell their concerns.
"I'm going to be having a big press conference afterward to talk about this," he responded, then referred back to a story the woman told about a mother having to borrow month to get to work.
"This is diverting attention from the first story that you told," Obama said.
So, he's advising supporters to watch the Bill Moyers interview. What about the NAACP and National Press Club diatribes?
2:00pm Eastern. Here we go. Barack press conference is on:
"I'm outraged by the comments that were made and saddened by the spectacle. The person that I saw yesterday was not the person I met 20 years ago. His comments were not only divisive and destructive, but they end up giving comfort to those who prey on hate. I believe they do not accurately portray the perspective of the black church. They certainly don't portray mine. If he considers this political posturing, then he doesn't know me very well. And I don't know him well either."
AIDS conspiracy: "Ridiculous proposition."
Farrakhan support and analogy of Marines/terrorism: "They offend me. They rightly offend all Americans. They should be denounced. And that's what I'm doing clearly and unequivocally here today."

What Jeremiah Wright did was to try to torpedo his protege's presidential candidacy and past friendship is not going to be allowed to stand in the way of Obama's dream to be President. No matter what Obama said today, the issue is heavy baggage going into the fall election.

So, you chose as your spiritual mentor, guide, and close friend a man about whom you know jolly little. Sure, and I am the Crown Prince of Norway.

"Like Mr. Obama, Mr. Lamont eagerly sought and received, the blessing of radically left organizations like MoveOn.Org and the Daily Kos. Like Mr. Obama, Mr. Lamont was a political neophyte with almost no relevant experience. A neophyte who, because of his ideological opposition to the war, was blindly embraced by much of the mainstream media in search of biased political champions who could inflict rhetorical wounds on the hated George W. Bush."

It all comes back to lack of experience. If this is how he runs his campaign, think how he'll run the nation.

I think they have just burnt all the bridges for the next 100 years. Could well be. Thomas Sowell and Walter Williams have both said that the first black president needs to be really good -- Jackie Robinson-type good. Otherwise, it could result in a real setback for the country. Well, I think we're seeing the setback right now, because Obama is so awful.
Personally, I'd love to see the GOP run a black candidate -- not Alan Keyes, and not Condi Rice. But I'd be thrilled to vote for a good black conservative.

Watching the press conference, Obama is sucking eggs. He's toast. He screwed the pooch. His loyalty and preference to the radical black religious nuts are obvious and he's paying the cost now...bout’ damn time. He's having a Ted Kennedy moment and rightly so.

In other words, a black Jimmy Carter.

That's another iconic moment in U.S politics where Ted Kennedy was asked by Roger Mudd in a famous interview why he wanted to be President and he didn't have a ready answer. I don't think Obama has a ready answer for his inexcusably bad judgment of the past two decades. If he couldn't see anything wrong with the likes of Jeremiah Wright, he's not going to be able to see anything wrong with America's enemies abroad. That's the long and short of it right now.

Yep, Sister Souljah moment for sure. But, too late. Where was Obama for the last 20 years. He gave the “church” over 20,000 last year. Now he simply looks like a pandering politician who is throwing Wright under the bus for expediency's sake. Too late.

I wouldn't expect much from a liberal politician. They are in love with their own words. But when you look behind them, there isn't anything there that makes you think they would really offer change.

“Hillary just lit the victory cigar.”
And you’re OK with that? She’s going to cream McCain in November. Obama was the beatable candidate.
