The Democratic National Committee has sparked outrage among veterans and others across the internet by running an anti-John McCain ad that shows U.S. soldiers being blown up.

The DNC and al Qaeda. Can anyone tell me a single difference between the two organizations?

I look at it this way - one of them is a group of vicious, lying enemies of the United States who want to see our entire civilization collapse in a smoking ruin so that they can build a new, repressive, autocratic society on top of it.

The other one's Arab.

"This ad should backfire on the them."

Tit-for-tat. I say the RNC crank up a few UNEDITED montages of the 9/11 carnage. Folks jumping out of buildings and splats and everything. Let's remind folks who we are dealing with in Iraq.

Stockpirate, it's not how many pages a person has read, written - or posted - that really counts for anything in a life.

There's something else called walking the walk.

When John McCain and the other American POW’s were in the hellhole of a prison/torture chamber called the Hanoi Hilton, a lot of very well-read Americans mocked them - in fact they gloried in this mocking.

They traveled to Hanoi just to sneer and jeer at the American POW’s, when their SOBitching captors dragged the prisoners past the “visitors.”

“Hanoi” Jane Fonda was among these distinguished, highly educated visitors.

One prisoner whispered a few words to Jane to pass on when she returned to the States. Jane reported the prisoner to the captors for doing this.

This delegation of eminent thinkers and pontificating “moralists” was, yes, “very well read.”

Jane even posed at a NVA AA gun. She knew the importance of classical commitment to a noble cause...

Yes, all this scum was very well read. They were, yes, very knowledgeable in many instances - certainly of the screeds of Marx.

They were surely well-read, and they certainly knew more about everything than anybody else. They would tell you this even without being asked.

Listen I respect his service to our country.

But he POW days have NOTHING to do with what his actions will be and the direction he will take as POTUS.

So, get over his time as a POW and look at what he would do in the Oval office.

It is about issues not where he had lunch in 1968.

Using your line of reasoning John Kerry served in Viet-Nam or haven’t you heard that?

And of course there is no comparision between the two’s service there.

John McCain is a Socialist in some of his beliefs, why not just admit it so the real issues can be debated instead of this he was this 30 years ago.

He wants to tell Conservatives what to say, how to act, and we must all do as John McCain says, but he gets to be the Maverick.

Well I say lets all be mavericks and go against Juan McCain.

When John McCain acts like a conservative then I will treat him like one, until then the areas he is a Socialist in are the areas I will fight him on.

So go on and drink more of the Kool-aid, and let him be a RINO and tell you what to think, how to act.

Trll me something, McCain came out the same night and attacked the NC GOP about the Obama ad they are running, thinking he has the right to tell others how to act and what he wants.

Where is he on the recent DNC ad? Not apeep, doesn’t want to offend his lib friends and fellow travelers?

Tell me where is Juan McCain your fearless maverick leader?

So, stockpirate, anonymous keyboard warrrior, I repeat:

Be so kind as to give us some details about the walk you have walked in life to so casually and vehemently condemn anyone - including veterans who have gone through unimaginable, prolonged torture by the most evil of persons - who do not fit your ideological purity test.

There is a curious totalitarian and fanaticism bent to your mind-set which makes it seem that you, not others, would be most at home in a socialist society - an "advanced" socialist society in which purity is the ultimate concern and where there are masters and slaves.

You of course would be a master.

You my friend are trying to divert the issues.

I have not said anything about veterans, what I said is John McCain isn’t gettin gmy vote just because he was in Viet-nam, I have stated many times that I salute his service.

What I do not like is his Socialist agenda.

I will support him in the areas where he is anti-socialist, in the other areas he and anyone eles are fair game.

You do not know me well enough to gage my mind-set. which is not totalitarian in any sense of the word.

I deplore socialism in any form, it is more than likely you that seeks to insnare readers in such a life.

I seek no follwers, but only to post my thoughts, it is up to each person to think through the issues and come to there own conclusion.

My hope is that they choose free market capitalism, or who is John Galt?

As I have pointed out those that do not want to address the issues of socialism here will attempt to divert the issues to someones service 35 years ago.

Or try to say I do love our troops and or country.

And are you not also a ‘nameless keyboard warrior?

So I ask what gives you the right or creds to ask me what my walk has been?

Nothing.

And I precieve a lot of projection in your statments.

In other words, you are staing to us who you really are.

Tell us, what paper did you write for?

Did you read my page to learn about me or are you just making it up as you go along?

“I have no problem with McCain who, with his staff and National Republican contacts, seems to doing a surprisingly good job on keeping to the high ground despite all on the left trying to plow him under.
My problem is with Limbaugh who, in his hang-ups on McCain, seems utterly incapable of seeing that a Presidential candidate must aspire to be a President of all 300 million citizens of this great nation - instead of being a ideologue for only one segment.”

So you are no more than a RINO, left-wing Democrat, pretending to be a conservative.

Because anyone who thinks McCain is a conservative isn’t.

And I will address another part of your stupid message soon.

Here is something I posted the other day, you may find it interesting. Tell me do dyou work for the McCain camp in any way? Paid or unpaid?

“It was common in those days, as it is in ours, to identify the Communists as leftist and the Nazis as rightists, as if they stood on opposite ends of the ideological spectrum. But Mises knew differently. They both sported the same ideological pedigree of socialism. “The German and Russian systems of socialism have in common the fact that the government has full control of the means of production. It decides what shall be produced and how. It allots to each individual a share of consumer’s goods for his consumption.”

The difference between the systems, wrote Mises, is that the German pattern “maintains private ownership of the means of production and keeps the appearance of ordinary prices, wages, and markets.” But in fact the government directs production decisions, curbs entrepreneurship and the labor market, and determines wages and interest rates by central authority. “Market exchange,” says Mises, “is only a sham.”

Stockpirate, you seem a bit disturbed at my simply asking you of your distinguished qualifications to pass judgment on a man who by, simply, his years in a North Vietnamese hell-hole of a prison-torture chamber is a national hero.

I have received back a lot of words but no answer.

You denigrate this man shabbily and rather rabidly. By inference it could be interpreted that you also denigrate a lot of other men who were POW's in that same hell-hole with him.

Their heroism, you see, went beyond mere "service." May you someday understand this.

No, I have not attained the rank of keyboard warrior - notably in the sense of not being inclined to (anonymously) assassinate good people.

And, yes, a President of the United States IS President of all 300 million citizens. If you don't understand this, I can't help you.

“You denigrate this man shabbily and rather rabidly. By inference it could be interpreted that you also denigrate a lot of other men who were POW’s in that same hell-hole with him.”

This statemnt that you are trying to attach to me has no basis in fact. I have never denigrated any person who has ever or is currently in uniform.

I see vets with a hat on and I thank them for their service. If I’m in line getting coffee and a person in uniform is behind me I pay for their coffee too and thank them for their service.

So your lame attempt to move the topic away from McCains policies to his war record won’t work.

If you want to dicuss the issues as to why I do not support McCain I thnk you aready know that.

But instaed what you are tryin gto do here is attack the mm ion a forum that has many current and ex-military on it.

And talkin gdown to me and others who are not going to support him by using the same tired jargon like, “Their heroism, you see, went beyond mere “service.” May you someday understand this.” is all to obvious for all here to see.

You assume for some reason that you have a right to have me answer questions that are off topic, but refuse at the same time to answer my question about do you work in any way for the McCain camp?

Go back and drink more of the McCain Kool-aid.

And please, if you can find ONE post here by me that states your claim that I am denigrating people in uniform past or present please post a thread all by itself and call me out on this issue.

And if you can’t then quit trying to smear me on this board.

As you wish -

stockpirate (post 58): “It is about issues not where he had lunch in 1968.”

Do you actually believe it appropriate to refer to the indiscribable suffering that American POW’s went through in the torture chambers of the Hao Lo Prison (Hanoi Hilton) as “where (they) had lunch in 1968?”

That is a very quaint way of putting it.

McCain, incidentally, was imprisoned, mostly in Hao Lo, from 1967 through 1973.

In regard to your query: I have no connection with the McCain camp (as if that would have any bearing on the worth of my words). I will work for him and other Republicans in my locale. I consider that an honor - as will many, many others.

What you posted does not in any way shape or form denigrate our vets or current servicemen.

McCain himself has used humor to refer to time as a POW, when speaking about Woodstock he said he was all tied up at the time.

So perhaps using your own logic should should write to McCain and ask him why he denigrates our vets who served.

Stockpirate, there seems to be some oddities about you on FR.

You have stated (see below) that you were a "lurker" before signing up "in July of 2004." I don't know what you are or where you come from, but there is more than a whiff of troll about you.

Stockpirate post of April 29, 2008:

To: metmom; greyfoxx39; Politicalmom; PennsylvaniaMom; colorcountry; pandoraou812; MizSterious

I lurked here for some time, and haven’t been around much of late.

But if you read my about me page you will notice that I posted over 50 artilces from my reading the 12,000 pages of the FBI files on John Kerry and the VVAW and posted them on this site.

I also sent them to the news media to no avail.

So I signed up in July of 2004, and was a lurker for about a year, sue me, it is no big deal.

The point is what I post, and I am no Socialist.
