The right to vote is a foundation of our democracy
number on we are not a Democracy
and where does it say we have the right to vote?
How about American citizens who don't wish to have their vote cancelled out by someone voting fraudulently?
Leftists claim "that doesn't happen" - even after numerous convictions of groups like ACORN.
Tough, Nancy. Common sense prevailed. Suck on that.
And isn’t it strange that John Paul Stevens of all people wrote the 6-3 majority on this one? Wow.
"This is going to make it much harder to 'Vote the graveyard'!"
[/BABELFISH]
so the dems are mad that their ability to steal elections by voting multiple times will get harder... wah!
they whine about the ‘poor’ not being able to afford IDs to vote, but then how do they cash their checks without ID? How do they rent videos without ID? What happens if they get picked up by the local gendarmes?
it’s a bogus argument.
poor nancygoat! wahwahwah!!!!
There was a great multi-panel cartoon a couple months ago. Showed a guy cashing a check and showing ID, showed him renting a movie and showing ID, showed him buying beer and showing ID, showed him using a credit card and showing ID, showed him at the check in table at his voting location and screaming about being asked for ID being a burden on his attempt to vote.
I’VE SEEN IT! I CAN’T UN-SEE IT!
you do, too...
It's just hillarious that the protesters aren't getting pointed and laughed at over their lame-assed excuses.
They want to commit vote fraud, they HAVE been committing vote fraud, they couldn't win but a few local elections without vote fraud, and this is apparent in their protestations.
The right to Keep and Bear Arms is a foundation of our democracy. American citizens who wish to Keep and Bear Arms must be able to do so.
Why do we never hear politicians, or advocates compare the two rights? Can anyone ever imagine Pelosi declaring that we must not ask for picture ID's when selling a gun, since after all it is a Right, and we can't put undo restrictions on Constitutional rights because the poor and minorities have such a hard time getting an ID.
For the most part, some of these same people she is talking about have no problem whatsoever waiting in long lines, and traveling great distances to get welfare.
Ain’t it the truth? :-)
The ID is FREE when it is for voting purposes and they show they can’t afford it.
Where to begin?
A. The United States is not a "democracy", and intentionally so. We are a constitutional republic.
B. Voting is not a "right", but a privilege of citizenship. It is also subject to restrictions regarding age, felony convictions, residency, and mental capacity.
C. As citizenship is a necessary prerequisite to voting rights, proof of such is a rational condition for a local or state electoral board, as the Supreme Court has now recognized.
D. Nancy Pelosi may look like an idiot, talk like an idiot, and sound like an idiot, but don't let that fool you: she really is an idiot.
she thinks voting is so valuable, yet, nothing ought to be required for something so valuable... instead of holding the opportunity to vote in such high esteem, she cheapens it...
These people (Read: democrats) should be able to afford an id card from the last elections “walking around money”.
Any poor dumb %*^$$(*&( who doesn’t have or can’t easily get a picture I.D. to prove their illegibility to vote -—— shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
I would go a step further..
Any person who is not a net tax payer - should be denied the right to vote.
If one is incapable of supporting oneself - then why should they have a vote to determine how I should live?
But of course — this is all insane..
We are currently having millions of illegal aliens voting in elections and politicians are doing everything possible to grant them amnesty to LEGALLY vote in our elections.
Well, I get it. I just don’t see the problem. LOL. We can afford to get him an ID but if he’s registered to vote they give it out Free. I don’t get the disenfranchised part. I guess it’s a liberal thing. How can it be disenfranchisement for anyone when everyone has to have an ID anyway.
