LOL...I am an equal opportunity basher....two of my six children were born in the Great State of Texas....
Before moving to Kalifornia I lived in Texas and loved it....
Remember this, when you live in a great state you have to be ready for those who are jealous.....

I agree and I hope the rest of the country will do the same. We can hardly pay for ourselves; much less anyone else.

Good news should be passed around as many times as possible. Which is why I provide free cross-referencing service.

I think any crime committed by an illegal invader should be considered either a hate crime or an act of war.

Let me correct that .. an act of espionage, not war.

Unemployment rates are rising across the United States, except Oklahoma. Someone call Fred "pseudo-con" Barnes and compassionate "conservative" Mike Medved. But, when you've got an encyclopedic mind, perhaps your gray matter is too stuffed with other material to have any room left for common sense.

And for the month March 2008 Arizona is at 4.0% while the US as a whole is at 5.1% and full employment is at 6%.

But from what I remember, 4% unemployment is considered full employment and a drop below that causes wage inflation to begin. But, I'm sure you realize that that 4% only covers people still actively looking for work, and not those chronically unemployed or who have given up looking.
The question is this: Is our Federal Government competent enough to increase LEGAL immigration?
We don't even need increased legal immigration. Or, maybe you'd like to turn every city in the US into Calcutta, Lagos or Mexico City? The prosperity of a nation depends on more than just economic numbers. Sheer numbers can indicate a huge economy, but says nothing about the quality of life of the average citizen. Where would you rather leave Switzerland or India? China or Norway? In a country with a gigantic economy, or one where the average citizen enjoys a good quaility of life?

Maybe. However, the 9/11 terrorists came into this country legitimately. The London bombers came into Britain legitimately. Seriously, if you are going to have a longterm sleeper cell, you don't want them to be picked up on immigration charges until they have carried out the mission. As in espionage, it's better to have legal cover.
This is not to say it can't happen or it hasn't happened, but it depends on the quality of the terrorist.

"The bottom line is illegal aliens will not come here if there are no jobs waiting for them," Terrill said. "They will not stay here if there is no government subsidy . . . . An end to the American brand of capitalism? An end to "socialize the cost, privatize the profits"?
They're kidding.
Now.. about that Wall Street "socialize the risk, privatize the reward" . . . .

Tell me you’re kidding...
The FIRST thing Bush should have done after 9/11 was secure BOTH borders! And started deporting ALL foreign muzzies.
Either we are at war or we aren’t!
gezzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...a nine year old would know that.LOL
AND while he was at it, he should have started deporting ALL illegal aliens. But it is quite apparent that Mexico has Bush in their back pocket.

So it really can happen. For some stupid reason I thought the Supreme Court ruled against the President, Congress, law enforcement and/or the states being able to do anything to enforce immigration laws.

Legalization for illegals has been on Jorge's radar from day one. It was only 9-11 that set his amnesty-betrayal plans back... until his conspiracy last year with buddy Ted Kennedy to again try and shove the third world down our throats. Mecifully, that scheme failed, and he'll leave office without acheiving his sick dream of a merged USA-Mexico
Tragically with Clinton/Obama/McCain the choice, we're guaranteed a pro-illegal anti-American president come 2009.

I represented a large local plumbing company bidding on a multiple apartment development here in Connecticut for a national development firm. It lost the bid to a Texas company whose crews were made up of undocumented workers, not paid prevailing wages, overtime or workers comp. Labor unions and Labor Dept. just turned a blind eye to the situation.
