Settling Scores (Eleanor Clift warns of Hillary payback)
Newsweek ^ | Apr 25, 2008 | Eleanor Clift

Posted on 04/27/2008 8:12:26 AM PDT by tlb

If the Clintons get back into the White House, it will be retribution time, like the Corleone family consolidating power in "The Godfather," where the watchword is, "It's business, not personal."

Notables who abandoned her for Obama will get the Big Chill. "He's dead to us," a Clinton aide was quoted saying of John Kerry, who along with Ted Kennedy was turned off by the perception of race baiting that led up to the South Carolina primary.

A major donor, conflicted between the two candidates and apologetic over his backing of Obama, found Hillary less than sympathetic. "Too bad for you, because I'm going to win," she snapped.

Hillary's people could do a miniseries on this campaign documenting her multiple comebacks and the egg on the media's face. When the polls closed in Pennsylvania and the race was for a short while too close to call, you could see the barely restrained glee among the commentators that perhaps the moment had finally arrived: Hillary might be gone!

Hillary lost the media a long time ago through a combination of arrogance and entitlement, but she has won grudging respect in some unlikely quarters. Conservative commentators Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough are openly rooting for her, and Tony Blankley, who first gained notoriety as Newt Gingrich's spokesman, confessed somewhat sheepishly, "She's almost beginning to appeal to me."

Obama may yet discover his inner Rocky and recast himself now that the media is turning on him. It's hard to be the next new thing for 15 months, which is how long he's been running. And it's time enough for Hillary to win ugly, if that's what winning takes.

"He's dead to us," a Clinton aide was quoted saying of John Kerry,

Hillary better be careful. John F'n Kerry is a HIGHLY decorated Viet Nam veteran, who's rough, tough, hard to bluff and used to hardships. He's been in intense, violent combat for extended periods of time. JUST ASK HIM.

Our electoral system could be improved, money saved, and better candidates provided by means of a good old fashioned revolution, wherein we clean house of all of our Marxist and jihadist trash.

It will be quite juicy if the Magic Negro wins the popular vote but the monster wins the nomination, from the superdelegates. Selected not elected!

We may get to use that phrase in another scenario. If the Florida and Michigan delegates are somehow seated, the popular vote in those states would be given legitimacy and added to the grand totals (at least by pundits if not the general public). So it is possible for Hillary to end up ahead in the popular vote when Obama gets anointed by the superdelegates. Obama would be the one shadowed by the "Selected, Not Elected" tag in this case.

In either scenario I'll revive "Selected, not Elected" to enrage my liberal acquaintances. They were so fond of that phrase back in 2000...they wanted the popular vote to count then!

"If Hillary does win, she will need Senator Obama to be her VP. Otherwise she will lose big. He will demand, and receive, whatever he wants."

Your wrong, all Obama would be in a Clinton admin is a glorified black lawn ornament holding the lantern. Black liberals would see it as a slap in the face: Mastah whitey puttin pooah little Obama in his place. He will not accept the VP slot because it is beneath him, Hillery will not offer it because he brings nothing to the table, with all of his real negatives and problems: “typical white people”, “we need more white people here”, bitter religious gun owning small town folk, G D Amerikkaaa, in love with and supported terrorists and black anti-American, anti-Semitic black racists, the list it ENDLESS! Obama the fallen messiah is walking plutonium as far as the majority of independent voters are concerned.

You can’t make that many enemies - on both sides - and survive.

Ask Spitzer.

Using rational thought processes and applying logical analysis to the statements of leftists is bound to be a frustrating endeavor at best...

Although it does make for an entertaining way to waste some idle moments...

You heard it here first (I think). They will allow secret ballots for the super delegates.

There has been plenty of high-profile racial tension brewing lately. The 'Rats will not risk voting for The Beast over OsamaObama with the potential of risking an all out race war in this country. Obama has the popular vote and delegates and he will get the super delegates and the nomination. The only way he could win in November is if McCain croaks.

The only thing that could f#ck this up is "Operation Chaos".

Worse case scenario: "Operation Chaos" succeeds. Hildabeast gets the nod. McCain croaks before November. The Beast is president for the next 8 years.

I have said all along on FR that Hillary will some how pull this out. The Clinton’s will do whatever is necessary to win the nomination. By hook or by crook.

I’m sort of surprised to see Hillary’s staunchest supporter revealing this quirk in her candidate.

But .. if people aren’t convinced she really will get even .. just read, “Hell to Pay” - it’s a stunner - the depth Hillary will go to get even with people.

And .. we should never forget .. Bill Clinton was quoted as saying, “... don’t you think it’s okay to kill people who hurt you?”

It would almost be worth it to see that happen.

We won't see it, because free speech is also on her hit list. Sites like Free Republic will be regulated and taxed out of existance.

That would be something, wouldn't it? Not only steal the nomination from Obama, but do it in secret so nobody knows which elected elite voted for whom?

If ever there were an idea to start a riot in Denver, that would be it.

Makes me sick to see so many on the republican/conservative side root for this unfit, flawed, unstable, and lying stalinist.

She's a master at charades. She's dangerous.

Thank you ALOHA RONNIE for bringing up her past and reminding us about her despicable associations.

So far I get the impression that some conservative talk show hosts have doing their best to paint her as some kind of lily pure saint while conveniently forgetting the sordid swindling corrupt Clinton reign of absolute reckless disregard for our national security when they were in the presidency.

"The only thing that could f#ck this up is "Operation Chaos".I think it already has. Rush's own Wag the Dog, or Wag the Election. All he needs is a theme song. The Clintons are "wagging the race card". Rush and Sean Hannity are "wagging the rev".

Frankly, I'd rather see him hammer the Clintons instead of supporting the incompetent vile witch.
