McCain Won't Do It, So Presidential Race Will be Fought on This [Rush Limbaugh] Show
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | 24 Apr 08 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: Let's go to this ad, ladies and gentlemen, the North Carolina Republican Party TV ad. An unidentified female TV announcer you'll hear and then the Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and the North Carolina Republican Party chairman Linda Daves.

FEMALE ANNOUNCER: For 20 years, Barack Obama sat in his pew listening to his pastor.

WRIGHT: And then wants us to sing God Bless America? No, no, no! Not God Bless America. God (bleep) America.

FEMALE ANNOUNCER: Now, Bev Perdue and Richard Moore endorse Barack Obama. They should know better. He's just too extreme for North Carolina.

DAVES: The North Carolina Republican Party sponsored this ad opposing Bev Perdue and Richard Moore for North Carolina governor.

RUSH: That's Linda Daves. Now, is there any doubt what this is about? This ad is about many things, but one of the things that this is about, this ad is intended to help Hillary Clinton in the May 6th primary. This is a derivative of Operation Chaos. There's no question about it. But the news here that Senator McCain, from his high horse in Washington, called the North Carolna... Well, he didn't even see the ad. He issued a denouncement and asked them to stop airing the ad. He said, "The television advertisement you're planning to air degrades our civics and distracts..." It does no such thing! Everything in the ad is factual. McCain says, "It degrades our civics, detracts us from the very real differences we have with the Democrats. In the strongest terms, I implore you to not run this ad." The RNC got in on the gig, too, said, "Senator McCain's been very clear that he expects to run a respectful campaign based on the critical issues confronting the nation."

Hahahaha

Thats priceless

I suppose you think all of his liberalism is a strategy too.

Were you one of those guys that thought Bush being a liberal in the 04 election meant he would make a hard right turn after reelection?

McCain is clearly weak, whether by choice or otherwise.

He is the RINO Charlie Brown and the Lucy Demoncrats are holding the football.

What a sucker.

Yeah. it's a real brilliant strategy, alienating even more Republicans.

He is alienating far fewer Republicans than most people here think. He will get the overwhelming majority of GOP voters in November. Don't go by Free Republic, this place is an echo chamber. Most Republicans like and respect McCain and will have no trouble voting for him.

Wait until November, the fruits of this strategy will be obvious then.

The November harvest will produce a president not fit to hold the office. Regardless the name of the winner.

Most Republicans that support McCain know nothing about him.

The others that do have some sort of sick stake in it and don’t care if he’s a Democrat.

“McCain is waging an excellent, low-level guerilla campaign...”

LOL! That must explain why he’s falling in the polls!

When he refuses to engage Obama on PERTINENT ISSUES like who are Obama’s mentors because he is afraid of being called a racist, it just makes him look like he is too weak to shoulder the criticism that would undoubtedly follow.

You're a true believer. That's for sure.

McCain was my third choice in the GOP race. I was Thompson, then Romney, then McCain. But I try to be realistic and not let my feelings cloud my judgment. The feelings expressed on this board about McCain are not representative of the Republican Party in general.

We’ll see come November. As for me, I’d rather spend the next four years bitching about President McCain than about President Obama.

McCain gets to take the high road ...

There is a limit to the number of 'crossover' votes that McCain will get by adopting the same liberal language and positions as the wacko America haters.

After that, all McCain does is piss off the Republican base.

The only attacks McCain can do are on fellow republicans and conservatives. He is Democrat-lite, and won’t do anything to risk losing the white, male, blue dog democrats. He’ll just push the knife a little further into the backs of republicans/conservatives.

Never stay home! Vote for all of the other political offices at every level that truly have conservatives running for them, and don’t punish all candidates running for a variety of political offices by you not voting at all just because of being against all of the major candidates for POTUS! There truly isn’t any decent choices for POTUS this time. Voting third party/Independent for POTUS will only indirectly help the Democrats win the POTUS race, but staying home on November 4 will definitely indirectly help the Democrats win EVERYTHING on November 4.

He can beat Obama in his sleep. I’m not sure about Hillary, though. That’s why I wish the Republicans would keep quiet until Obama wraps up the nomination.

Yes, McCain is kissing Obama’s butt, and if Obama gets the nomination and is elected President, every politician of every stripe in Washington will be doing the Obama kneel and butt-kiss for the next four years. And we citizens better damn well love every Obama policy because to object them, for any reason, would be RACIST as we will be reminded constantly.

Does anyone think there’s anything to electing Hillary or Obama, letting them screw things up, and then a true conservative will come to the fore?

God bless Rush. He loves this country and I trust his judgment. We are fortunate to have a leader with some guts who has nothing to lose by telling the truth.
