<< DO has been striving valiantly for a long time here on FR to get people to confront the facts, logic and dire reality of the situation in which the American people are trapped. Unfortunately it is now obvious that most people are either so caught up in the heat of their partisan enthusiasms, or so cowed and intimidated into a resigned acceptance of a fait accompli that they simply won’t listen. >>

That does appear to be the case. I, for one, appreciate DO’s persistence in spreading common sense.

I’ll admit that the Obama/Hillary pill is tough to swallow. I had to overcome my own natural gag reflex to come to a realization about this election.

DO is right on the money with this. McCain will engender NO OPPOSITION from “our side”, or the Donks.

Obama or Hillary will GUARANTEE OPPOSITION from the congress on down, and all across the country.

Being that McCain is nothing more than a liberal with an American flag on his lapel, under which scenario will America fare better?

I think the answer is clear, even though I say that with a great deal of trepidation.

Windflier, I have a lot of respect for you, but I refuse to swallow that bitter pill. I’ll be damned if I’ll aid and abet any course of action which allows Obama or Hillary to ascend to the presidency...

and appoint three to four activist Supreme Court Justices, guaranteeing that Rove v Wade will not be overturned in my lifetime;

and pull our troops out of Iraq, betraying what our best and brightest fought and died for and delivering our Iraqi allies into the hands of the jihadists, like lambs to the slaughter;

and embark on a spending spree which will make Bush’s big-government “conservatism” look tame by comparison;

and allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, forcing me to help pay for even more programs of liberal social engineering, not to mention jacking up the eaxes on the people who sign my paychecks.

No, McPain’s no prize, but he’s not half as bad as Hillary or Obama. I guess people have forgotten how bad it was the last time there was such a liberal as those two in the White House.

And no, McCain’s not the same as the two Dems. He has a 65 rating from the ACU, with an 82 lifetime. Hillary and Obama are both in single digits, with identical ratings of 8 (9 lifetime).

Anyone else remember the misery of the Carter years, or is it just me?
