SAN ANGELO, Texas – The first of more than 400 children taken from a polygamist compound boarded buses Tuesday bound for 16 emergency shelters, children's homes and foster care agencies throughout the state, including two in North Texas.

As the buses rolled out, the children eagerly waved and smiled at television cameras. Lawyers inside the San Angelo Coliseum who were meeting with their adult or child clients said authorities allowed no one in or out while the children, 114 of them by day's end, were loaded onto the buses.

News flash--kids don't always know what's good for them. They're kids. They know what they have known. That's why God gives them parents, and in the absence of decent parents, God gives them a safety net of other adults who care about their welfare.

Haven't you ever raised a kid? They start out as raw material, and then you raise them to be free, educated and self-sufficient members of society so they can do the same for the next generation.

The children are doomed to be destroyed by the state, ripped from their mothers, and dumped in foster homes where people are paid by you and me to abuse and exploit them.

Boo Hoo.

I guess YOU want them RETURNED to their WONDERFUL lifestyle; where EVERYTHING will then be hunkiee-doriee!

Do you have any concept of brainwashing?

She's a Mormon.

Think about it.

Right.

NOT to be cultists, child-brides or rapist zealots.

By the way, the bold LDS thing on your fLDS acronym? It’s getting old. Too clever by a half.

Is THIS better??

Didn’t Carolyn Jessop have a daughter that went back to the FLDS?

Looks like we need some DNA testing here!

LDS and fLDS is one faith, two expressions; one faith, two affiliations.

Articles of Faith

The Articles of Faith outline 13 basic points of belief of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The Prophet Joseph Smith first wrote them in a letter to John Wentworth, a newspaper editor,
in response to Mr. Wentworth's request to know what members of the Church believed.
They were subsequently published in Church periodicals.
They are now regarded as scripture and included in the Pearl of Great Price.

THE ARTICLES OF FAITH
OF THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS
History of the Church, Vol. 4, pp. 535—541

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
  10. We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  11. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
  12. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  13. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith

Seriously, take a look at: http://www.gosanangelo.com/news/2008/apr/23/subpoenas-to-see-whether-sects-100m-trust-was-to/
No matter how rampant the welfare fraud was, you can’t build what is there on that amount.

Just as an aside, this article will give you a heads up regarding why all of this is possibly set in motion now. These conditions have existed for some time, (Remember Dr. House’s rules; 1. Everybody lies, 2. There are no coincidences) why now?

Money.

There is a judgment for $8+million against Jeffs, etal. This raid has accessed the financial records for the ranch and there will be an attempt to link the building of the ranch compound to the raiding of the trust fund. So, for all you who are reveling, wallowing, agonizing, wringing hands, gnashing you teeth over the alleged sexual misconduct of some inbreds, it’s just going to be about the money.

Now I'm totally confused. If we could rely on grammar.....Carolyn Young, wife vs Carolyn_Young_Wife it sure would make things easier. (And my kids didn't think grammar was important with a computer! HA!)

I really, really hate to think about WHY these young girls all look so much alike (yet I know the reason!)

Furthermore, I believe there much of the evidence has not been leaked to the media.

This is what I have thought all along. I think there was more than a phone call that got them moving. Maybe there was to be a "weddng" that night or something?

Many poopoo the analogy but I think it is spot on. Not condoning any illegal behavior, but it borders on religious persecution in context to the analogy. Certainly, in my opinion it is an out of control government entity trampling rights and the constitution. Nevertheless, I am waiting for more information before I join the Nancy Grace Mob and certainly I don’t see the need to indict the Mormon religion as many are doing because this particular sect is disassociated.

Ditto-— My siblings and I would be far better off if we'd been in foster care also.

And as a former foster parent, don't judge—— These kids come to you so damaged that normal going to the ER once a week, dealing with broken furniture or having to call the police today because you've got a 15 y/o teen hell-bent on being with her 29 year old BF that she consistently runs away from school-— her goal to get pregnant so she could ‘be with him forever’.

I resent intensely all foster parents being painted as villains when then majority that I know and have met are people who believe they really can make a difference in the kids lives. Heroic is an understatement of what these folks routinely do....

The issue is, when you finally get them, their ‘real’ parents have done such a number on them, your greatest hope is that you can keep them out of prison or from killing a sibling.

April 16.

But why am I now the content of your discussion? (Could it be that just as much as posters focus on the Texas news & related discussions you would want nothing more than for it all to just "go away?")

Here's a clue for you as to why your approach/your deceit is not gaining you any sympathy at FR:

You have committed the mainstream media demagoguery of looking at the numbers 30, 38, 48 and asserting that the deaths have gone up 60% ... take the per capita and redo your statistical fib to reflect what percentage of children taken into the foster care program die per year, and be sure to--to be honest, which I doubt you intended anyway--subtract the number who died in a given year from the total increase in number still in foster care, summing the number of children in foster care each year then taking the deaths as a percentage of children in foster care. Your deceit becomes obvious when the statistics are applied properly, but hey, you got away with it for a while, and not one person at FR approves of even one child killed while in foster care regardless of whether the foster parents did it or thedeath is by 'other' circumstances which you conveniently leave out for impacts sake. You're a troll, IMHO. Are you also a Mormon?

Maybe you could bone up on what you missed in high school & college: Utah history.

(Is it any wonder that 1 Web site survey asking ex-Mormons why they left the church was "history" that some folks avoid it like the plague?)
