KUWAIT CITY Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says the Bush administration explicitly warned former President Carter against meeting with members of Hamas, the Palestinian faction that controls the Gaza Strip and which is regarded by the U.S. as a terror group.

Revoke his passport.
If that’s the very least that could be done then Rice needs to do it.
Classic permissive parenting in action. What’s the consequence, Condi?
Carter comes away empty-handed. The same way America did after one term with him as President.
My thoughts zacly...Just like the neigbor with his spoiled brat daughters,”thats it time out”.5 minutes later time outs over and 10 minutes later they do it again.BS.
Carter is no better than any other elitist liberal. He thinks he is above the law.
That’s exactly correct and she’s prepared to do nothing. This was posted by Fox in the breaking news but as I read the 2 paragraphs I waited for the consequences.
Summary
The Logan Act, codified at 18 U.S.C. § 953, states: Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply, himself or his agent, to any foreign government or the agents thereof for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.
The Logan Act was intended to prohibit United States citizens without authority from interfering in relations between the United States and foreign governments. There appear to have been no prosecutions under the Act in its more than 200 year history. However, there have been a number of judicial references to the Act, and it is not uncommon for it to be used as a point of challenge concerning dealings with foreign officials. Although attempts have been made to repeal the Act, it remains law and at least a potential sanction to be used against anyone who without authority interferes in the foreign relations of the United States.
Considering how Bush never prosecuted other Democrats for doing the same BS that Carter is doing, there's no reason for him or any other Democrat to believe they are above the law.
Lets see, that seven hour Carter meeting surely deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. Why not give the old idjit a second worthless award
Jimmy Carter is a blankety-blank. I despised him as POTUS, and I despise him now.
and when Carter passes we shall do the same...lol
Already in the works!

The only problem with doing this is the political implications it will have in the future when and if the dem's ever get back into the White House. They already want to turn President Bush over to the World Court for war crimes in Iraq, throw him in jail for stealing the 2000 election, and anything else they can dream up. Grampa Carter is one of those crazy old fools that embarrass the family, but is best left alone, to show the rest of the world how nice the family treats their own.
Carter is an enemy of this country, as are most of his left-leaning commie, brain-dead, tree-hugging, spineless cohorts. The man should be treated as such.
