Frustrated by the state and federal gridlock on solving Seattle's transportation problems, Mayor Greg Nickels suggested secession at a Thursday luncheon.

LOL I was thinking secession might be a fine idea! Any chance of Seattle just detaching itself and floating over to join San Francisco? It would give us more usable waterfront ;)

MY dream would be to have the federal government stick to what it was supposed to Constitutionally do, and have people know this, such that any and every problem isn’t perceived to be a shortcoming of the federal government.

If a liberal city detaches itself from an otherwise conservative state, then that is more liberals who no longer have a voice in government and thus, have no power to screw the rest of us.

Nickels has been making such a fool of himself....even more than a regular lib. with power can do....that I’m concerned about his mental health.
Not kidding....I’m concerned that some of his behavior has been quite over the top....including trying to bust the police union with 100% illegal tactics and then claiming he didn’t know it was illegal to directly bargain with the officers.
