"Communion is the body of the people of the church coming together"
...I'll let other people comment on that.

Communion is the body of the people of the church coming together, Pelosi said at her weekly news conference after returning from the Mass. I feel very much a part of that. What did Paul say? He who eats the body of the people of the church unworthily is guilty of the body of the people of the church, was it?

She's completely ignorant, mentally and spiritually.
Treating the Holy Eucharist as a politcal token proves her moral bankruptcy.

Communion is the body of the people of the church coming together, Pelosi said . . . She got the "body" part right.
In other news, I see that the Senate finally managed to say Welcome! to the pope--but only after Babs Boxer got them to drop all references to his religion and moral values.

I’ll bet she didn’t take it from Archbishop Burke, either. Come to think of it, how did she receive Communion? Hmm.m.m, point to ponder.
I know our Lord said he came for the sick, not the healthy, so I’ll have to leave it at that.

Amazing, a conservative is beat up about his/her religion.
A liberal wears it on their sleeve, when it’s convenient.
‘Look at me! Look at me!! I’m religious too!!’
What a bunch of hypocrites.

Maybe Pelosi has repented.
I imagine she is aware of this scripture
Therefore whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will have to answer for the body and blood of the Lord. A person should examine himself, and so eat the bread and drink the cup.
For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body, eats and drinks judgment on himself.

Oh thank you Stretchface for dropping your two cents!...

She is certainly confused. The Church does involve what is called the Communion of the Saints, which is the fellowship of the members of the Church, living and dead.
But Holy Communion involves receiving the Body of Christ.
This is part and parcel of the “We Are Church” movement that has afflicted Catholicism in America since Vatican 2, impelled by dissidents and their ignorant followers.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she felt very comfortable taking Communion during the Mass celebrated by Pope Benedict XVI, who has said supporters of abortion rights should not receive Communion.

Nancy is third in line for the Presidency, and she didn’t receive communion from the Pope?
I think perhaps she avoided getting in line to receive it from him — so as not to embarrass him (or more to the point, herself).
That in itself speaks to her guilt on the matter of abortion.
Poor Nancy, she needs more than prayers...
