Principal tells PETA tough bounce
St. Paul Pioneer Press ^ | April 17, 2008 | From The Deer Stand

Posted on 04/17/2008 8:40:57 AM PDT by From The Deer Stand

Ken Bartelt, principal of Northwestern Middle School in the small town of Poplar, Wisconsin, refuses to bow under PETA pressure for a bulletin board in his school that shows photos of students with the game they have harvested. PETA wrote to Bartelt asking him to remove the bulletin board because it encourages students to have a dangerous mindset of violence. Sangeeta Kumar, who wrote the PETA letter to Bartelt, said hunting and animal abuse leads to abuse of human beings. Bartelt, however, isn't knuckling under to PETA. He was quoted as saying, "Half of our school board are hunters." He added, "Hunting is a part of the culture, not only in our school but in many parts of the country, and especially so in northern Wisconsin." Bartelt said hunter safety classes teaches respect for weapons and, he noted, hunters are probably the least violent members of society. PETA would not print Bartelt's response letter on their web site. They are the same group who, at one time, asked the Green Bay Packers to change their team name because it highlighted violence to animals in slaughterhouses. Bartelt also noted that if it weren't for hunting, the ancestors of today's PETA members might not have survived in the wilderness.

PETA encourages a dangerous mindset of whininess. PETA membership leads to abuse of other people’s willingness to suffer inconsolable idiots.

Next will come the inevitable lawsuit which the small, local school district will not be able to defend against. To avoid spending thousands of dollars they can’t afford, the board will be taken down.

No, we will FReep a fundraiser to help them fight back against the eco-terrorists and their organized crime tactics.

PETA is a disgrace to legimitate opponents of animal cruelty. Hunting is a fine sport and part of America’s heritage, as well as western culture.
its not animal cruelty.

"hunting and animal abuse leads to abuse of human beings."

So, PETA then agrees that TV and computer games lead to violence also?

Of all the ironies maybe this school should contact the ACLU and file a lawsuit claiming PETA is trying to infringe on their rights to free speech....
