ELDORADO, Texas (AP) - State officials Tuesday defended their decision to suddenly separate mothers from many of the children taken in a raid on a polygamist ranch in West Texas. Texas Children's Protective Services spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner said the separation was made Monday after they decided that children are more truthful in interviews about possible abuse if their parents are not around.

I do condemn, but do not convict, the polygamist and their cult. Please do not apologize for despicable polygamist who prey upon their minor daughters for carnal desire! The multiple pregnant minors are enough evidence of criminal acts and the coverup of those acts. I set aside the thou ignorant servant slur. Does your apparant sympathy for those citizens emanate from LDS teachings, the constitution, Libertarian view, or the Laws of Texas?

I saw those women, too, and pitied them for the brainwashed sheep they are, whimpering and dumb as dirt, defended only by a scummy cult lawyer. Evil pedophiles have stolen the only life they get on this beautiful earth.
I suspect it's only because the victims of polygamy are women that there are some wackos at FR who are defending this bunch of perverts.

Once again as in my post #104. How do you know that these allegations are true. They may well be, but again I have seen no evidence. Have you???? If they are true and girls under the age of consent are forced in polygamist marriages then hang em. But let's wait till then.

Sure if you can prove they made the call up. Acting on an anonymous phone call isn’t a felony. As a matter of fact, it’s the law. It has to be acted on.

Smug, you’re missing an important point. Child abuse or not, polygamy is ILLEGAL. What part of “illegal” do you not understand?
But for the record, after seeing that interview, I think the reports are pretty close to the truth.

We have DNA tests these days and can identify the fathers for each and every child, and even associate the childen with the mothers.
More than like Jeffs' cronies have arranged to have non-related folks moved into this particular compound in an attempt to defeat that sort of thing.
That assumes the FLDS folks have any understanding of the power of DNA tests.
Texas definitely has the upper hand here.

It's based on several phone calls from a woman in the camp to a battered women's shelter. They, in turn, are required by law to report such things to DHS.
In short, the answer to your question is NO!
To: fishhound
6 women have asked to NOT be sent back to the FLDS camp.
Hmmm!
I think your concerns are misplaced.
To: John W
You don't know that the girl is not in the protection of DHS. You don't know if FLDS personnel may have hidden her away. You don't know if FLDS personnel may have simply killed her.
Why do you persist in this claim that she is not "identified"?
To: poppiemike
You made that up didnt you? Give me the chapter and verse please. It is not nice to make up stuff like that Girl did who made that hoax call from outside the church. You dont condone that either ,right. You have to be kidding me? You think I'm making it up that the Holy Bible teaches us to be monogamous? You can't be for real.
But here since you asked for chapter and verse:
1 Corinthians 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Genesis 2:24 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh."
Matthew 19:4-6 "Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female, and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

Tanks? Looked like an ordinary armored vehicle to me ~ not a tank. No doubt FLDS is well armed. This is Texas after all! Lots of rattle snakes out there.

Without Child abuse then what would be the reason for taking the children? Most polygamist do not break the law, they are married legally to only one wife the others are ceremonies that have no legal standing to them. If a married man and his wife invited a second woman into their bed no laws have been broken. although that is not what poly's do.Polygamy is practiced in every state in America and by people other than Mormon's. Many Baptist poly's have moved to Utah because they are for the most part ignored there, As long as they don't flaunt it or have 2nd wives getting government aid for their children and themselves.
If these interviewee's were Amish acting the same way would you believe their guilt. The interviews exposed no evidence what so ever, other than they were admittedly practicing poly's

Newbie’s really don’t need to come in here and shout. Besides, there are former cult members and their friends on these threads who are willing to call you a liar. Aren’t you afraid of being discovered by them?

Up in Idaho a related group (still calls itself Church of the First Born) has several thousands of members. The state welfare folks were able to determine that they had the highest rate of infant mortality of any identifiable group in the state.
Most of these groups refuse medical care except for broken bones. Yesterday (Sunday) a cult expert (who'd grown up in one of these groups) used the word "physician abuse" in the same sense I'd seen in several news stories about this group. What that means is not "someone abusing physicians" but that the group leadership elite (the alpha male and his horndog cronies) refuse women and children the services of physicians.
We don't yet know if that's the case with this gang of FLDS but if they have a high percentage of retarded kids it could be the case.

If the children could have been pulled out of the Waco situation they’d be alive today. Certainly you can’t be serious.

I think I’m just quoting the same “reliable sources” being quoted regarding everything to do with this case.

I agree Wita. It’s an interesting point you made, that the innocents are the ones who have been taken into custody. The perps are still roaming around free as can be. The illegal abuse has now been replaced by legal abuse.
How true...

Because of “privacy” and the fact “family court” is involved in all the DHS actions here we really don’t have any details about anyone.
