Did Rush and Hannity' egos take an historic victory away from us?
Vanity | 4/14/08 | Vanity

1) Did Rush give Hillary new life because he wanted to show that he still had influence, and will that fact allow the Dem's to avoid a crushing democratic defeat?

2) Did Hannity put the scoop and ratings ahead of the country's welfare by not holding the Rev. Wright stuff till the Dem race was settled?

I'm very pleased with how things are going on the Democrat side.

The only thing about this election that displeases me is McCain.

That just about sums up my opinion too. Unfortunately, I couldn't stomach the thought of contributing (by staying home) to a win by either of the 'Rats so, with nose plugged, McCain will get my vote in November. On April 22nd, I'll vote for whoever else is still on the Republican ballot in PA (besides Paul).

*if* she is, so what? Being gay doesn't automatically program you to be liberal. We are conservatives, we don't look at the label, we look at the individual.

1) If she had a long history of unabashedly supporting culturally conservative causes and her competition was middle-of-the-road I might go with her, but her likely gayness is just part of a pattern of seeming cultural liberalism.

2) My observation after 49 years of life is that a gay person is infrequently a cultural conservative.

If she is gay, the Dems would exploit it either explicitly or implicitly, by forcing us to refrain from discussing Hillary's sexuality.

Wait a minute, wait a minute. It is blatantly obvious here that you really haven't any idea of what you're talking about. Ms. Rice was the National Security Advisor from 2001 through 2005. There are specific requirements for that position, including security clearances. So, regardless of whether she IS or ISN'T "gay" she would have had to undergo the clearance process and likely a polygraph at some point in her varied career.

Essentially what this means is you'd be asked about this sort of thing at some point and to LIE about it could bring undo harm to National Security. If you're openly gay, that too is a problem. If you're not open about it, and keep it a "secret" it's going to come out eventually when someone gets upset with you - and you're in a high ranking position, you become vulnerable to such things.

She hasn't had that happen and only a few happenstance bozos have suggested such a thing about her in the past. The fact is, you're pulling this right out of your rear as an "example" because it is something you want to "PLant in people's minds".

"It's an obvious question that everybody would wonder about if she was on the ticket. It is one of the things that makes we doubt that she is a cultural conservative"

No, this is not an obvious question people will ask. It's one that you're asking to plant a seed in the minds of people who read here.

Are you saying that we shouldn't discuss fundamental things about a person who is angling to be in line for the Presidency?

No YOU said that - you said that HANNITY shouldn't have been doing the very thing you're trying to say YOU are doing. LOL

I'm a cultural conservative. I don't want somebody who is gay, or is a workaholic, or doesn't have experience being a faithful spouse and parent. Those are bad indicators, especially when you consider her unwillingness to come out as unabashedly social conservative.

That's a load of crap too. LOL

"by the time the Swiftboaters got through with him."

/chuckle!

BTW, side question. What does the group New Politics Institute mean to you?

/Snicker.

I also noticed that, like a predecessor RobertPaulson, you've stop "responding" to me. I wonder why? LOL

Her likely gayness? Where is your proof? If you have something besides “just a feeling” based on the fact she is unmarried, by all means show it to us.

The Clinton's showed that a President can get most anybody they wanted into positions.

W had a history with Condi and was comfortable with her in that position.

Just checking to see if it rang any bells. Have you ever read the book Hillary's Secret Warriors?

You don't need to plant something like this into people's minds, everyone would wonder.

You never wondered?

What do you think is the likely explanation for why a beautiful, accomplished, middle-aged woman has never been married?

Don't want to speak for my FRiend Rick, but personally no, especially after some of the high profile people Condi has dated. (Such as former NFL star Gene A. Washington who she supposedly is currently dating and has been dating for a while.)

Nope. What Ms. Rice’s private life is, is none of my business. Why would I care with whom she is (or ISN’T) sleeping with? Why do you care? Get back to Rush and Hannity and answer my questions. I want to know why you think it is ok to question Rice’s qualifications for a job, but you don’t think Hannity should be questioning Obama’s qualifications.

I want to know why you think that it is ok here to bring up mistakes of “our side” as you put it, but it’s NOT ok to bring up the mistakes of the other side (i.e. Hannity bringing up the Wright remarks again)?????

I'm not familiar with it, but I did read the book by the former FBI agent about the lax background checks on Clinton people.

You are bringing this up because she was considered by someone, somewhere to be a good candidate for being VP... this in turn being a GOOD thing, you see as a BAD thing because "she might be gay". She might also just like being SINGLE, without having the issue of dealing with a husband, or family. She might also be a closet- KKK sympathizer as well. Obama certainly is odd, he's married to a woman who's never been proud of America... until of course, her husband ran for office.

Oprah married Stedman Graham. Only trash journalists have the whole gay speculation about her.. but heck, don't let that stop your little fantasy world... the way this is going, I am starting to believe you get your news from the Daily Sun or The Enquirer.

I'm suggesting that by beating the Rev. Wright drum in the primary Hannity and Rush have made it likely that a stunningly weak candidate, Obama, will now not get the nomination.

Rush and Hannity would have had ample opportunity to reveal things about Obama after he sowed up the nomination.

Rick, I believe this is good evidence that the H & O camps are scared s***less about the thought of Condi being on a ticket. Expect trash rumors like what the little HSW is feeding here to pick up a lot in the next few months- especially if there is a fight at the Dem convention- they'll need to start rumors to distract from their internal fights.
