Cesar Laurean, wanted since Jan. 11 for the killing of a pregnant Camp Lejeune Marine, has been captured in Mexico, said Capt. Rick Sutherland of the Onslow County Sheriff's Department.
More details will follow as they develop.
They did have an affair before she accused him of rape.
If he faces the death penalty for the murder, Mexico will not extradite him.
LOLOL....right?
We promise we’ll treat him muy bien :)
We here in Jacksonville that were so affected by this tragedy are celebrating! We knew that it was only a matter of time before Sheriff Brown got his man!
Hang the dirtbag.
OMG, on Larry King the reporter just said the FBI seized Christina’s sister’s computer and that Christina has been communicating with Cesar!!!!!
Holy cow!
I live in Jacksonville too.
In retrospect, I'm of the impression he was not really the kind of guy who could tell the truth. So, yeah, I'll readily believe he raped the woman.
Good news!
Kinda coincidental that the Lauterbach’s Rep. Michael Turner went public earlier today with the official response to his inquiry regarding measures taken/not taken in the investigation of the crime and/or toward this young woman’s security.
Unbelievable.
OMG. The FBI?! Heck, I’m not even stunned about the communication, what gets me is that it’s the FBI and not that investigatory-agency-that-shall-not-be-named.
Does the sister’s involvement implicate his wife ... even more so?
Dunno. She could have been working with authorities for a variety of reasons.
The FBI had a little help:
“The FBI and its law enforcement partners brought to bear all of our domestic and international resources to find a man wanted for murder,” said Nathan Gray, the FBI special agent in charge of the investigation. “This was truly an international effort.”
Gray said the FBI would do everything in its power to ensure Laurean is brought back to Onslow County as quickly as possible to answer the charges against him.
The Onslow County Sheriff’s Department, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Interpol and the Mexican government worked with the FBI to find and arrest Laurean, Gray said.
I wish we’d make a deal with Mexico to give him life imprisonment...
... in a Mexican jail.
He’d get suitable justice quicker than if he got the death penalty here with 20 years of appeal filing.
Apparently he was saying he needed money.
I can't believe how deep she's into it and she's still “a cooperating witness”!!!
It wouldn’t shock me to learn the wife was an accessory to the crime ... subsequently, she may have cooperated with authorities in a plea deal.
Not a slam against the FBI, mind you, or the SBI, the U.S. Marshals Service, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, Interpol, or the Mexican government.
I wanna see some footage of Cesar in handcuffs!!!!
