SAN ANGELO, Texas — Teenage girls, often younger than 16, were required to have sex in the soaring white temple after they were married in sect-recognized unions at a polygamist compound in West Texas, according to court documents unsealed Wednesday.
The temple "contains an area where there is a bed where males over the age of 17 engage in sexual activity with female children under the age of 17," said an affidavit quoting a confidential informant who left the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I watched the video linked from this forum where women who have escaped described what it was like, growing up and living among this religion. My heart was sick when one young escapee described the night she was raped. They showed a picture of her at that age and she was so young and helpless.
As the cult is all about sex, babies are bred for sex, the entire community exists around sex, then yes, this is a religious brothel [like certain ancient Greek and Roman temples were], run by mad men [and women] who perpetuate the cycle by giving birth, raising the babes born to be the next victims and then, enablers of the victimizers, by the brainwashing. -Religious brothels on the order of ancient Greek and Roman temples who did the same, using slaves.
The mothers SHOULD have known better, but keep in mind that they too were taught from childhood that failure to cooperate with the leadership of the church, and failure to submit to the will of their “husband”, would lead to eternal damnation.
They also have little or no education, no marketable skills and were told that they would be evicted from the community if they didn’t cooperate. And they didn’t have any family to turn to because, for most of them, the only family they know is also FLDS.

People cite Jerry Lee Lewis as some kind of cradle robber for marrying his 13 year old cousin (who Jerry has said was already sexually active by the time he got to her). Jerry was 17. And Jerry had already been married himself as a “child bride”, Myra was his second marriage.
Do not even attempt to link the FLDS to either the Amish or the Mennonites. I know many Amish, and they do not have multiple wives, nor do the Amish put their 14 daughters into the beds of 50 year old perverts. Amish youth are permitted and encouraged to ‘leave’ the family and live amongst the ‘English’ to see if they trully want to live their adult lives as their parents have. No...the Amish are NOTHING like this group of welfare cheating, pedophiles.

Your statement has nothing whatever to do with these old men treating these young girls a chattel, and breeding them in that manner.

We can only hope so.
While I distrust the government in general, I have been following the FLDS for years and there has always been overwhelming evidence that many if not most of the women were being abused in the name of religion.
The interviews with the women who have escaped do support the whole thing -and more.
If the wives are not free to leave then they are essentially under arrest.
If for no other reason, to not be separated from their children. Are the mothers allowed to come and go as they please? Are they allowed to communcate with their children? Are they allowed to communicate to attorneys?
