I love these "peaceful" liberals out in San Fran. DO AS I SAY CHINESE WOMAN! I KNOW MORE ABOUT TIBET THAN YOU DO! I AM FROM SAN FRANCISCO!!

Wow. Can't wait to see the protests in support of Christians world wide who are being persecuted. Wonder what that will look like.

And I’d like to thank all these #$%^& Free Tibet jerks for ruining a once in a lifetime opportunity for children and adults by forcing the Torch Run route to be relocated so that practically no one was able to see it and enjoy it.

I agree with the concept of a Free Tibet. I’m PO’d China got the games, okay? The Torch relay wasn’t about the games. It was about the incredible honor of running with a symbol of athletic excellence. But by all means, let’s make sure your narcisistic need to make your voices heard above all others destroys the event.

The event, by being associated with Beijing and China, is an abomination, it deserved to be destroyed.

once in a lifetime opportunity for children and adults I agree with your sentiment but the torch came through here for the Atlanta Games in 1996

I actually got to see it run through Okinawa on it’s way to Tokyo - I became a sprinter after that.

It was about the incredible honor of running with a symbol of athletic excellence.

Technically, the torch run originated from the 1936 Olympics, Nazi Germany started it as a symbol of showing off their superiority(sic).

Are you saying that the Chinese government’s violent suppression of religion in Tibet was legitimate?

Really? I hadn’t heard that. I just remember being so excited to see it in 1964...
I don’t know who I admired more then - Jessie Owens or Wilma Rudolph.

Can you imagine the estacy?

All these years you had the Free Tibet sticker or bumper sticker. You wrote thousand of words to your your three internet buddies about the opression in Tibet. You bought a Tibet Flag. You contributed $2.00 and they sent you a poster......

Then today, the big day you get to matter, you get to go into the street and hate . You get to be a meaningful advocate for the poor, the downtrodden oppressed. You get to smirk at corporatioons funding the opressors.

All is right in wacko land

I respectfully disagree, simply because I don’t see the torch run as a political event. However, I must grudgingly admit, I was PO’d about the huge Chinese flags. They are now parading down Market Street with these flags, and you should SEE the looks of disgust on many people’s faces. Sorry, dude, when you left the platform and created your own one-man parade down S.F.’s main thoroughfare, it wasn’t about the relay anymore and I’ll be happy to tell you where to stick that ugly flag of yours.
