'Jamiel's Law' Targets Illegal Immigrant Gang Members In Wake of Los Angeles H.S. Football Star's Death
The family of a Los Angeles high school football star allegedly killed by a gang member in the country illegally is getting behind a proposed city ordinance intended to crack down on illegal immigrant gangs in the city.
The proposal, dubbed "Jamiel's Law" after shooting victim Jamiel Shaw Jr., was drafted by Walter Moore, a political opponent of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
The parents of the 17-year-old Shaw spoke in favor of the ordinance Tuesday before the Los Angeles City Council. A 1979 police order bars officers from enforcing federal immigration laws, but the proposed ordinance would require officers to hunt down illegal immigrants who appear to be gang members.
Pedro Espinoza, the 19-year-old suspect in Shaw's death, was released from jail without authorities questioning his citizenship on March 1, the day before he allegedly shot Shaw to death, according to reports by MyFOXLA.com.
Police say Shaw was walking home from a mall on March 2 when Hispanic gang members pulled up in a car and asked him, "Where are you from?" — code for what gang did he belong to, police said. Espinoza then allegedly shot Shaw, who was not a gang member.
Espinoza was arrested March 7 and charged with murder. The charge has been labeled gang-related, which could make him eligible for the death penalty.
Police said Shaw was a standout running back and a good student at Los Angeles High School. He also was the Southern League's most valuable player last season and had been recruited by universities including Stanford.
Shaw's mother, Army Sgt. Anita Shaw, had been serving in Iraq but returned home when her son was killed.

I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.

In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.
Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article. Also this article from the LA Times. And here. This makes intuitive sense. We see stories regularly of drug gang killings in Mexico but we don't see those same stories in the USA. The reason we don't see those stories is not because its not happening. Rather we don't see the stories about illegals killing blacks because that kind of story is terribly politically incorrect. The populations being displaced in downtown sanctuary cities especially are American blacks. That means that their criminal elements would be pushed aside by Mexican gangs as well. That's also the story that the wanted for murder posters in all the major cities seems to suggest.
Nevertheless, the pattern of non reporting is starting to break. Discovery Channel has a series called Gangland that mentions ethnic cleasing of blacks by Mexican gangs

All that said the true number of criminal aliens is far higher than is revealed by criminal aliens in prisons. Exactly right! The arrogant politicians who keep telling us to “tolerate” illegal entry into our country or be branded a “bigot” share a large part of the blame for these atrocities. That includes George Bush, Ted Kennedy, John McCain, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Lindsey Graham, Barbara Boxer, and many more.
Amazing how the gross illegality of illegals is ACCEPTABLE, but these gangs and their crimes are not. More liberal-government hypocrisy and double-standards.
We are dealing with two systems of laws. One that suits the government’s politics, and one that applies to everyone else which must be obeyed.
