Members of a British Muslim terrorist cell discussed taking their wives and children on suicide missions to blow up transatlantic jets, a jury heard yesterday.
The ringleader, Abdulla Ahmed Ali, was bugged by police talking about whether to bring his baby son but said his wife "would not agree to it".
Umar Islam, however, said his wife might join the plot if it were a "significant operation".
Six of the eight-strong gang each made "chilling" suicide videos expressing the desire to wreak "death and destruction" against the West and "Kuffar", or non-believers.
They were intended to serve as taunts from beyond the grave if their horrifying plot had succeeded...
The men wore western suits and blank expressions in the dock of Woolwich Crown Court, South-East London, as they watched their videos in which they were dressed in Islamic garb.
The jury heard that police recorded a conversation between Islam and Ali at the bomb factory, where the two discussed taking their children on their suicide mission.
Referring to a train bombing where a man wanted to take his child, Ali said: "That's why he wanted to take his kid on the train with him. Shake them up.
"Should I take my lot on? I know my wife would not agree to it."
Islam told Ali that his wife found his own "martyrdom" script in his house after it fell out his pocket.
"I was hoping she didn't read it and then she goes, 'I read that thing'.
She goes, 'Is that what I think it is?'

ROFLOL!
Wow! Hurray up and please convince the car insurance companies about how misguided they are when it comes to risk management before my boys are of driving age. Please tell them that while based on their risk management assessments, young males do cause a disproportionate number of car accidents, it really isn’t a good idea to charge them more because there are middle aged, married women out there causing accidents too.
It’s not possible to search every passenger, which makes risk management necessary. How many Muslim terrorists in the past have not looked Middle eastern? Who were the terrorists that blew up the Pan am flt over lockerbie? A bunch of white muslims from the U.S or Europe? How about the Cole? 9/11? The Kobar Towers? The marine barracks in Lebanon? The Madrid bombings? And on and on and on.
I have flown my whole life as well and when there are elderly people as out of it as you describe, they are accompanied or given assistance from the airline flt attendants. Sorry, you’re not going to convince me that I’m more at risk from my little old granny having a bomb planted on her without anyone noticing, than some young, jihadi males capable of taking down an airliner.
It’s not a sure thing, but it’s about risk management and decreasing the odds.
Gee, isn’t Islam a RELIGION OF PEACE??!!/sarcasm
Search 'em both.
Cheers!
I’m pretty sure this is not what the folks who started “’Bring Your Daughter To Work’ Day” had in mind.
religion of pieces ?
> Gee and just recently Bonnie Prince Charles wants is title to be changed by inserting Keeper of The Faiths, instead Keeper of The Faith. Oh well he is keeping 99% of the rest, what harm can that little change do?
That man is a menace.
I agree that you cannot search every passenger. However, your form of "risk management" opens holes in security that these bastards will drive through.
You are not dealing with static, stupid people. They change tactics quickly once an opportunity is presented.
Stop searching granny and they will use her to blow the plane up. Search all middle-eastern men and they will use women (like they did in Russia).
Random searches of EVERYONE coupled with behavior profiling works very well. Adopting your routine screening to the terrorist tactics is also required.....which is why we can't carry liquids through security anymore.
Of course, you hope you can stop most of the animals through proper intelligence gathering before they even get to the airport.
LOL! Eric, that would be funny if what I am about to write was not 100% true. - Sacred profiling, my ass.
I am a flight instructor on the Treasure Coast of Florida and had my own business at KFPR until 04.
Occasionally, Atta and company would fly through here.
Now, Arabs - or anyone else for that matter - being trained in Florida is pretty common, seeing as how almost 90% of the World's general aviation pilots are trained right here.
To the interest of some others, I would not let him, or in fact, those who fit that particular profile, in my business or in my aircraft at all, and that was before 9/11, mind you.
I never thought of it as “profiling” until that became the latest liberal trash way to make us defenseless in the face of anyone determined to hurt us.
“Racist” was a word I heard a bit. - Too bad.
I simply thought of it as common sense.
FAA rules allow one the comparative luxury of deciding who and what can get into your AC for any reason at all, free from *most* PC garbage.
There were some Arabs that I had no problem with, and you got to know by the look and sound of them pretty quickly who the good guys were, although I do admit that most of those guys were from the UAE, and not from SA.
Most Arabs were terrible student pilots compared to domestic students, and required a lot of extra training.
My fellow instructors and I had a lot of discussions about why that is so, but they are not germane to this thread.
Suffice it to say that although the brush may have been broad, it was more often than not correct.
Therefore, in conclusion, I can state that I profiled on an ongoing basis. - and that your post, is in fact and in reality, wrong.
Wow, you really have an ego problem! It blinds you to the reality of a world far larger than your minor little Florida resort airport.
So you banned those you thought were Arabs and pat yourself on your back for your 'broad brush'. Trying that in the real world would miss multiple terrorists and their abilities to conceal/alter/use dupes for their operations.
Profiling works great if you know who you are looking for. When your enemy can be hispanic (Jose Padilla) or American (Adam Gadahn) or female (Amanta Nagayeva) profiling falls apart.
So, please stop all the boastful talk about profiling because it would fail far more often than random searches and behavior profiling.
Wow, you really have an REALITY problem!
It blinds you to the FACT that a minor little (intenational) Florida (not a resort) airport is where the 9/11 terrorists were trained for years.
That means RIGHT HERE, you twit.
Personally, I have zero respect for liberal trash that twists reality and real world experience because they do not fit into some pre conceived notion that an ivory towered theorist has thought up, even though he has no experience in the area that he spouts off about.
That would be you.
People do disagree and they do hold opinions and *gasp* experiences in real life* that are different than yours are, but they can manage that without your stupid personal references.
However, since you opened the door - like liberals often do (yes I'm talking about you) here is a like response, and I suspect, a correct one, at that:
I have little respect for short-sighted fools that repeat the same defense while the enemy changes tactics.
