I got a note from Mr. Moran, the PR guy at Absolut. It reads" "The ad has been down -- have you not seen the Pears ad in its place?"

You know, I don’t know vodkas at all. I would love to have a picture of a shelf full of different brands of vodka, maybe in a bar. All the brands would be represented EXCEPT for anything having to do with Absolute and its parent company. I’d have to find a catchy slogan for it, but it would mimic the MAP that has gotten them so much negative attention.

When they publish an absolut ad depicting an INS center as seen from the air ,in the shape of their bottle with a caption:
“Illegal immigration is not an Absolut Right”
I’ll buy their product again.

It would be wonderful to see Absolut do a total crash & burn over this, sales crashing, executives fired, etc. I won’t hold my breath but I can dream!
I pointed out that, while “there is no such thing as bad publicity,” there is such thing as bad advertising and I was ignored.
