We have received many comments on an ad showing what an ABSOLUT world would look like from a Mexican point of view. We are sorry if we offended anyone. This was not our intention. We will try to explain. Though you may not agree, I hope you understand......
.....The In An Absolut World advertising campaign invites consumers to visualize a world that appeals to them -- one they feel may be more idealized or one that may be a bit "fantastic." As such, the campaign will elicit varying opinions and points of view. We have a variety of executions running in countries worldwide, and each is germane to that country and that population.
This particular ad, which ran in Mexico, was based upon historical perspectives and was created with a Mexican sensibility. In no way was this meant to offend or disparage, nor does it advocate an altering of borders, nor does it lend support to any anti-American sentiment, nor does it reflect immigration issues. Instead, it hearkens to a time which the population of Mexico may feel was more ideal.
As a global company, we recognize that people in different parts of the world may lend different perspectives or interpret our ads in a different way than was intended in that market. Obviously, this ad was run in Mexico, and not the US -- that ad might have been very different.
Wow. That one will make ya think.
“Theyd be dropping em in the heart of Mexico city with arms to kill off the regimes. Or more likely, they would have NEVER stood for a foreign country imposing its will on us and encouraging its citizen to break our laws. “
Yep! Ol’ Teddy would solve the problem instead of trying to take financial advantage of it.

I sure hope that’s so, I haven’t seen reason to doubt it. He’s my favorite of the 3 for sure.
This has got to be one of the stupidest ad campaigns ever, and the company still doesn’t get it. I predict some turnover in Absolut’s marketing department.
These guys are going to push too far one of these days.
Folks are gettin very upset about this type of thing. I’m putting in lots of popcorn and softdrinks.
They will next quarter. My household throws parties with a lot of Russian chicks ... we WERE good few a couple of cases a year.
I'm going to the liquor store tonight to see about this new Van Gogh brand of flavored vodka.
“We are sorry if we offended anyone.”
You did not offend me... I’m just outraged.
>>>Disrupt or die....isnt that an anarchists slogan?
Disruption techniques.
Indirect aggression may bring conquest without. even the necessity for a lightning war.

ABSOLUTE
Bravo Sierra
***It’s a good thing that Muslims don’t drink alcohol, because in an Absolut world, would Israel not exist?
-PJ***
It might be good if the Moslems drank alcohol. After all, God made whiskey to keep the Irish from ruling the world.
Yeah, a more ideal time when that stinking, corrupt, 3rd world, socialist hell-hole of a country took up even more geographic space that people would be trying to escape from in droves. Very ideal.
Maybe marketing their product in Germany would benefit from depicting Europe under the heel of Nazism or, perhaps, non-Aryans going up a chiminey in smoke until Absolut-ly reduced to ashes.
What scum.
I second that recommendation.
Good enough for Serbia, good enough for the US.
I was sure dane would admit (he/she/it) was wrong on all those other “Absolut” threads.
Perhaps I should wait here and hold my breath.../sarc
Never the less I'm sure Absolut will enjoy the fruits of this “publicity” at least as much as the Dixie Chicks enjoyed theirs. And I hope Absolut’s is just as profitable.
I was the one that was wrong. I questioned if it was real. Dane was questioning meaning and motive.
On another thread Dane insisted that the ad was a hoax.
