I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re picking up the tab.

“I have a sneaking suspicion that we’re picking up the tab.”

My guess is that you’re correct.

That’s good news, the very beginning of reconstruction..

Reconstution is quite far along if the Iraqis can think about buying billions in passanger airliners. Obviously, there are significant numbers of Iraqis who want to fly which means they have significant amounts of disposiable income if they need these planes But I know, it not the average American's fault they know next to nothing about Iraq. After all, the supposed "Journalists" aren't bothering to report on any of this so how is anyone suppose to learn about condition in Iraq.

They are buying the planes. Iraq has increasing oil money, so I don't think we are paying the purchase. At least we can't assume this without evidence.

That’s reasonable; we spent $750 Billion and they spend a few Billion to pay us back.

Very equitable.

My guess is neither of you have any clue what you are talking about when it comes to Iraq.

Guess all those stories about the multi billion dollar oil contracts the Iraqis just signed with various oil companies got lost in noise from all the hysteric screaming from our so called "news" media about Mookies failed revolt.

I don't understand why we're not having them use some of their own oil money to help this effort.

Of course, as has been repeatedly pointed out your number is a total lie. The $750 billion is for the total war effort since 2001, not just Iraq.

But I know, never bother a Dincon with the facts. It merely waste the posters time while pisses off the Neo Isolationist.

We ARE! The Iraqis are buying a load of things with their increasing oil revenues. There is no evidence or indication that this plane sale for example was paid by anyone but the Iraqis themselves.

I don't understand why knee jerk ignorant posting by the usual Neo Isolationist around here is immediately accepted as “fact”. There is nothing in the story that mentions anything about the USA paying for this deal.

A couple of posters earlier suggested that we were probably footing the bill for the aircraft. But maybe not. I hope not.

I know, never bother a Dinocon with the facts when it comes to Iraq. They have their dogmas and will relentlessly cling to them in the face of all reality

Fine. How about 1/4th of that, would that suffice?

Why aren’t these mutts paying us with every nickel of their oil money?

Why are we such chumps?

Why? they have the US to be their sugar daddy. China just signed a multi billion dollar deal with Iraq to obtain oil.
