While the crab fishermen of Alaska have been dealing with quotas and serious limits on the crab harvest, these crabs are overpopulating and no-one sees the obvious answer?
I am more than willing to help out. They are welcome to harvest all they want and quick-freeze and drop ship crab legs to me. Anyone else interested????

This is what the bottom of the Norwegian waters look like!
Most people love the taste of these monsters. To me its like eating giant cockroaches.

AIEEEEE!!! Not just giant crabs, giant COMMUNIST crabs! Run for your lives!
Sure, the article is four years old — no reason to let our guards down!

The monster crabs, which can weigh up to 25lb and have a claw-span of more than three feet, are proving so resilient that scientists fear they could end up as far south as Gibraltar. Oh My God!
We are all well and truly screwed now.

How about fishing for the damn things and seeing how they do then?
It drives me nuts when they claim an animal humans eat has “no natural predators”.

Why are you posting an article from 2004?

Send in the boys from Dagerous Catch. They’ll have the majority of that crab on diner tables within a few weeks.

***The animal’s legs are considered a delicacy and fetch top dollar in Japan and America. Even in Oslo, consumers pay around 200 Norwegian kronor (£15) a pound.
Served with bread, butter, lemon and mayonnaise, the taste and texture of the crab meat is comparable with that of the finest lobster.
One leg is enough to provide a grown man with a filling meal. ***
So, what is the problem?

My father and I feasted on Kamchatka/Red King Crab last friday here in Gothenburg, West Coast of Sweden.
Truly delicious!
I served the crab with a dab of aioli and also a little bit of gohandesuyo - a Japanese seaweed based kind of “jam” which a certain Freeper who lives in Tokyo actually sent me(!) - on the side.
But traditional Swedish seafood dishes are great too:

Too bad we can’t have armies of lobsters form up in Maine and start marching down the eastern seaboard. Many restaurants and fish shops would welcome the invasion.
