Actually, John Stott is a solid Christian. He has been writing some of the best Biblical commentaries out there over the last 10 years.
There are lots of ‘bad’ Muslims that can be reached for Christ. I know a few, and we talk to them from time to time. I have a couple of friends who are much better at it than I am- they’ve actually lived in the ME before, and understand the Koran much better than me, and they’re perfectly comfortable hanging with them, hashing out theological debates and making invitations to grace.
These are the types of things the church had better wake up to if we truly intend to bring salvation to them.
If we don’t, Jesus will be our judge.
Sorry, don’t buy that there can be peace between us.
There are, after all, three Abrahamic religions: Islam, Christianity, and Judaism.
Silly, you know the answer to that one!
Yeah, let’s not read further or think through it or anything. Knee-jerk reactions are far more fun.
There you go, trying to make people, like, think and stuff. Don’t you know that hurts?
How about we start a dialogue with them if they:
1) Bring the body of Osama
2) Stop rioting over cartoons
3) Bring bodies of radical Muslims
4) Blame leaders of Muslim countries for the atrocities and poor conditions of their own countries.
5) Oh, did I mention bring dead bodies of terrorists?
6) Start their own airlines
I know. I overreacted. I just hate to see folks caving in to them-like the Archbishop of Canterbury, for example.
PugetSoundSoldier: some day your CAD engineer's imam may want him to commit acts in support of the global Jihad. At that point he will have to choose between being your friend and being a faithful Muslim. He cannot be both. He may think he can, because the choice has not yet been put to him. He may even believe he can be both for a while, as long as his pro-jihad acts do not directly harm you, but he will eventually need to fully commit to one side or another.

Surah 33:36O ye who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are near to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allah is with those who keep their duty (unto Him)
Surah 9:123Ye have indeed in the Messenger of Allah a beautiful pattern (of conduct) for any one whose hope is in Allah and the Final Day, and who engages much in the Praise of Allah.
