God Bless Our War Hero John McCain
March 28 2008 | jveritas

Posted on 03/28/2008 4:39:44 PM PDT by jveritas

Today John McCain campaign released a very powerful and emotional ad that portrays a man who made the ultimate sacrifice to serve this greatest nation in history of mankind. I do not know how anyone cannot consider that this great man will be great commander in Chief when they see the footage of him in captivity and being interrogated by his Vietnamese captures. This is the man that we need to continue and win this great war against the Islamic terrorist enemy.

(View the very powerful ad here) http://blogsforjohnmccain.com/new-john-mccain-ad-mccain-624787

When he was at the lowest point of his campaign last summer and everyone wrote him out, they asked him if his low poll numbers are due to his support of the war, McCain replied “I would rather lose an election than lose the war”. Now compare this great Patriot to socialists and defeatists like Obama or Hillary Clinton who fabricated one of the most outrageous lies claiming that she came under snipers fire in Bosnia.

God bless John McCain.

God bless America.

McCain For President.

Just a family joke! 5 destroyed planes and we have an ACE.

We have always referred to John as Ace with sarcasm.

The War Secrets Sen. John McCain Hides

http://www.aiipowmia.com/sea/schanberg_mccain.html

Former POW Fights Public Access to POW/MIA Files
April 25, 2000
By Sydney Schanberg

PART 1 OF 2

NEW YORK (APBnews.com) — The voters who were drawn to John S. McCain in his run for the Republican presidential nomination this year often cited, as the core of his appeal, his openness and blunt candor and willingness to admit past lapses and release documents that other senators often hold back. These qualities also seemed to endear McCain to the campaign press corps, many of whom wrote about how refreshing it was to travel on the McCain campaign bus, “The Straight Talk Express,” and observe a maverick speaking his mind rather than a traditional candidate given to obfuscation and spin.

But there was one subject that was off-limits, a subject the Arizona senator almost never brings up and has never been open about — his long-time opposition to releasing documents and information about American prisoners of war in Vietnam and the missing in action who have still not been accounted for. Since McCain himself, a downed Navy pilot, was a prisoner in Hanoi for 5 1/2 years, his staunch resistance to laying open the POW/MIA records has baffled colleagues and others who have followed his career. Critics say his anti-disclosure campaign, in close cooperation with the Pentagon and the intelligence community, has been successful. Literally thousands of documents that would otherwise have been declassified long ago have been legislated into secrecy.

For example, all the Pentagon debriefings of the prisoners who returned from Vietnam are now classified and closed to the public under a statute enacted in the 1990s with McCain’s backing. He says this is to protect the privacy of former POWs and gives it as his reason for not making public his own debriefing.

Navy vet here. Eleven years active, 14 reserve. Looks like more Navy vets have issues with McCain than other vets. Maybe because we heard McCain stories from our shipmates back in the day, and not the kind of stuff that would cover him in glory. The McCainiacs better hope the dems haven’t heard the same stories.

How the POW’s Fought Back
Lieut. Commander John S. McCain III, U.S. Navy
US News & World Report, May 14, 1973

http://www.pierretristam.com/Bobst/library/wf-193.htm

Here, in his own words, based on almost total recall, is Commander McCain’s narrative of 51/2 years in the hands of the North Vietnamese.

The date was Oct. 26, 1967. 1 was on my 23rd mission, flying right over the heart of Hanoi in a dive at about 4,500 feet, when a Russian missile the size of a telephone came up-the sky was full of them-and blew the right wing off my Skyhawk dive bomber. It went into an inverted, a most straight-down spin.

I said, “O.K., I’ll give you military information if you will take me to the hospital.”

Alan Keyes is very principled... a good man... i don't see him leading our nation... i just don't think of him as a leader...

Voting for anyone else, is just picking the lesser of two (or 3) evils. The lesser, is still evil.

"The McCainiacs better hope the dems haven’t heard the same stories."

From what I've read, the Left could have access to intimate details of John McCain's time in Vietnam via John Kerry, who attained hero status among our enemies in Vietnam, and who has become good buds with McCain since a long flight they took on a trip together overseas as Senators in recent years.

As you say, stories about McCain have been around since back in the day. It's interesting that he was supposedly conservative politically, yet his leftward views have become more and more apparent through the years, and pronounced now.

There are veterans for McCain. But, there is an organized group of Vietnam Vets against McCain. I don't know of a Vietnam Vets for McCain group. Do you?

The only candidate that was worse than McCain, was Ron Paul. At least with the other candidates that you named, you knew what you were getting, McCain’s a crap shoot.

By the way, Obama stated that he would like to see a capital gains tax of 25%. That should scare enough people to give McCain a win.

“John McCain is a socialist.”

Figured that reply was coming.

McCain is obviously not the most conservative french fry in the box (an understatement, I know), but Hillary or Obama would do irreparable damage to our country, far worse than McCain could do.

I realize that the lesser of the evils is still evil, but if evil is gonna be in the WH come 2009, I’d still pick the lesser.

On a different, but slightly related note, if something happened to McCain (illness, scandal, etc.) and he could not be the Republican nominee, who would be up for it?

i understand that you see it that way... not everyone does... some people really do like John McCain and are voting for him whole-heartedly... of the three candidates, i only see Hillary as actually being truly evil... the other two i disagree with on certain to many levels... but i believe Hillary actually is wicked...

Ok then, tell me. Would you be able to sleep at night if Obama or Clinton get in, and with the help of far-left leaders in Cong./senate, we eventually turn into the type of country that would make Chavez drool with envy?

Pleasant dreams!
