Obama suggests ex-pastor is contrite
Associated Press ^ | 3-28-2008 | CHARLES BABINGTON,

Posted on 03/28/2008 3:54:48 PM PDT by george76

Democrat Barack Obama seemed to suggest in an interview aired Friday that his former pastor has acknowledged that his controversial remarks were inappropriate and hurtful, although there are no public accounts of the minister having done so.

"Had the reverend not retired and had he not acknowledged that what he had said had deeply offended people and were inappropriate and mischaracterized what I believe is the greatness of this country, for all its flaws, then I wouldn't have felt comfortable staying there at the church," ...

Obama spokesman Bill Burton said the senator's remarks did not imply that Wright has expressed misgivings about his statements.

Obama ...did not leave the church or repudiate the minister himself, who he said was like a family member.

Wright never expressed misgivings about his statements.

Obama felt un-comfortable but would he leave ?

More legal double talk.

Oddly, the “white folks’ greed” line and the Haiti reference do not appear in the seemingly official version of the sermon.

But Obama has them in his book within quotation marks.

In the space of four sentences the excerpt contradicts itself twice.

Contrite=guilt. The problem with guilt is narcissism—you think you are better than your actions. Guilt also results in repetitive form in people who are doing two things at once—being guilty and doing guilty things. The solution is do one or the other and dismiss the other. In this instance you conquer guilt.

Reverend Wright will never stop thinking what he said; he may stop for a while saying it.

Obama spent 20 years listening to Wright's hate speech and didn't feel offended enough to comment or leave the church.
He can back pedal all he wants and he'll only convince those who refuse to see the truth about him.
You are judged by the company you keep, Obama has claimed he looked to Wright for spiritual guidance and political decisions.
With each word he utters on the subject of Wright, he helps to build a stronger case against his own judgement.
A man who claims to be presidential material couldn't sit quietly for 20 years while listening to sermons that violated his own beliefs. No one with character could.

Game over

More of his much-ballyhooed “smooth talk”? I’m “contrite” over this as well - I’m really sorry Louie K, Rev.Wright, and Barack Hussein Obama ALL suck.
