THE RACE: The presidential race for Democrats nationally
THE NUMBERS
Barack Obama, 49 percent
Hillary Rodham Clinton, 39 percent
___
OF INTEREST:
The two rivals' standings in the Pew Research Center poll have changed little from late February, the latest indication that so far Obama has weathered the controversy over provocative sermons by his longtime pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. While Obama has a mostly favorable image among white Democrats, those with unfavorable views about him are likelier to say equal rights for minorities have gone too far and to oppose interracial dating. Almost one in four white Democrats who view Obama unfavorably also think he is Muslim, when in fact he is Christian. Obama and Clinton both continue to hold slender leads nationally in matchups against the all-but-certain Republican candidate, John McCain.

Correction, make that 10 pts.
We will be forced to convert.
::::shrug:::: Seems to depend on the poll. Heard about one on the radio yesterday that said McCain was ahead of both Clinton and Obama.
I don't think so. They're both slime.
Yeah, imagine the Black Panthers will police powers, automatic weapons and FBI dossiers. Imagine Nation of Islam Lawyers as federal judges. Imagine a mass pardon of blacks from Obama's Presidential pardon powers.
Sometimes I think these polls are like taking your pulse every five minutes. How much of this is necessary?
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday continues to show a very close competition in the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination. Its Clinton 46%, Obama 44%. Since Obamas speech on race and national unity, Obamas support has been within two percentage points of 45% every day. Clintons support has been within two percentage points of 44% every day (see recent daily results)
New polling data released today shows that Sixty-two percent (62%) of Democrats arent ready for either candidate to drop out of the race.

52% Unfavorable for Obama. Wow. That's gotta hurt.
ah not too mention what kind of guests would be invited to the white house, including the likes of irans leader
would he increase immigration from africa
would tax money be increased to africa
would reperations be called for
Folks, AP never met a Republican they liked. I would like to see the questions, how they were worded. To say that this Rev. Wright controversy hasn’t hurt Obama is burying your head in the sand, something the MSM is very good at when it comes to Democrats.
Yet when you really think about it,Hillary and Bill have been pushing affirmative action-race based identity politics for way longer than Obama.
How come anyone never calls HER on that issue?
true
I think affirmative action is the worst programme out there
MLK said we are all equal so why do minorities get special rights to jobs, housing, schools etc etc.
I had a friend who applied for the boston firefighters and even though he got 98% he was refused as they gave a black man the job because of racial numbers, two years he tried for that job training hard.
In the end he took Boston to court him and another friend
But you are right in what you say and just think how the likes of the clintons feel. They have pushed this programme for some time and as soon as a black man runs for the nominee blacks rush to the black man and ignore clinton
wonder if she feels stabbed in the back over this and if she ever did get the nominee then would blacks still get special deals from her
Translation: those who have unfavorable views are RACISTS!! Typical AP BS.
