Unlike Barack Obama, Bill Clinton does not believe in "the fierce urgency of now." The former President has an exquisitely languid sense of how political time unfurls. He understands that those moments the political community, especially the media, considers urgent usually aren't. He has seen his own election and re-electionand completing his second termpronounced "impossible" and lived to tell the tale. He remembers that in spring 1992 he had pretty much won the Democratic nomination but was considered a dead man walking, running third behind Bush the Elder and Ross Perot. He knows that April is the silly season in presidential politics, the moment when candidates involved in a bruising primary battle seem weakest and bloodied, as both Hillary Clinton and Obama do now. It's the moment when pundits demand action"Drop out, Hillary!"and propound foolish theories. And so I'm rather embarrassed to admit that I'm slouching toward, well, a theory: if this race continues to slide downhill, the answer to the Democratic Party's dilemma may turn out to be Al Gore.

Brilliant!
Bring in the standard white guy to save the day. That will go over really well with feminists and blacks. Sad thing is, it might be their best option.
If they do that, Obama will still have to be VEEP.
I'm sticking with that prediction until it doesn't happen.
“Im SUPER SERIAL”!!
I don't think that McCain would be able to beat Gore. There are an awful lot of voters who think he should have been president, and likely will vote for him in a heartbeat. These are voters who otherwise would have crossed over and voted for McCain rather than vote for Hillary or Obama in the general election.
GOP should also have a Plan B ready in case McCain has a breakdown, something from his past erupts, or he insists on Hillary as VP. Hillary likely has his FBI files.
The only question with that answer can be: "Name a dangerous moron." The only reason he has been so successful at PR is that his followers are bigger morons than he is.
..the answer to the Democratic Party’s dilemma may turn out to be Al Gore.”
Gee..too bad that news that global warming stopped 5 years ago is leaking out. Might be an inconvenient truth for Goracle.
The scary alternative and it could happen. The Convention could draft ManBearPig and I dare say that he would accept.
No effort at campaigning, no money spent and a HUGH ego stroke! Gore is quite able to beat McCain.
Assuming there’s a chance Obama would go ride the back of the Gore bus, Hillary would never agree. She hates Gore, would resent his coming in, and would not have a shot for 8 years.
If Hillary doesn’t release her delegates to Gore, could Gore be given the spot?
What exactly happens with a brokered convention? Are all the candidates released from their pledges?
Who’s more of a moonbat - algore for being one or joeklein for writing this? The mind boggles...
Think about how incredible the suggestion of GIVING it to a Southern White Guy....it would be DISASTROUS. Nope...if they give it to someone, they will give it to OBAMA. The support she did have deserted her when Obama was on the roll. The fear within party on repercussions would be too much for them. At this point, I just can’t see her winning, at all. The party’s exhaustion and frustration with all things Clinton has finally taken its toll.
We’re going to be running against Obama...and I think we’ll take him easily. Hillary supporters will be more than happy to vote for McCain...unfortunately.
It would also slay any "Green" Third Party, probably keep the blacks on the plantation if Obama played it right, and probably be acceptable to Mrs. Clinton's people if they promised her Secretary of State, or a Supreme Court shot.
And .... and .... I am.... in love with Tipper.
Gore missed a chance to become one of the great characters of American History. His inclination, backed 100 percent by Tipper, was to resign when Clinton was impeached, if Clinton would not. Instead he let himself get sweet-talked by Bill Clinton by the promise of a larger role in the administration. Immediately after accepting the deal, he was completely marginalized by Bill and Mrs. Clinton.
Gore and Tipper hated the Clintons before all of this happened ... and now loathe, detest, and are disgusted by them.
BTW, press photographers and camermen are forbidden (pain of death apparently) from shooting any of the Clintons or Gores from behind. They are huge, HUGE I tell you, in the hindquarters ... blot out the Sun
DraftGore’08 gains steam...
And Shrill the CO-VEEP. Simply ignore the Constitution in favor of racial and gender equity. That would actually be a hilarious triumvirate - a white guy, a half-white guy, and a half-man woman!
But think how he could use a short, four-year detour to the Oval Office to pass anti-GW legislation that would, after he leaves office, line his pockets 100-fold beyond what he’s making now.
