Yesterday, we noted the journalistic morals of the George Soros-funded Minnesota Monitor, which ran a Molly Priesmeyer article on its front page that made fun of John McCains teeth. Priesmeyer didnt bother to research why his teeth look like a mess of yellowed and contorted Chiclets which was that his torturers in Vietnam smashed his teeth to the gumline.
Today, the MinnMon, which gets its funding from Center for Independent Media, continues to demonstrate the ethics of the Sorosphere. After acknowledging the fact that she didnt bother to research her topic, Priesmeyer has yet to write a correction or apology and the story remains on the front page. Priesmeyer left this as a comment to her own story:
I was not aware of the fact [of the torture]. I simply was linking to a post that revealed his teeth had become a topic of discussion on the blogosphere. Buzzfeed.com is an aggregator site that collects trends of the day.
Best,
Molly
Well, she wasnt aware of it because she didnt bother looking for an explanation. Further, she didnt just link to the Buzzfeed article, she endorsed it, as this demonstrates:
While looks are an easy and lame target, its at least refreshing to see McCains teeth get a razzing (though, unfortunately, not a cleaning).
And, now that shes been made aware of it, Molly hasnt lifted a finger to correct the story something even bloggers know how to do. The front page as of 12:30 PM ET today:
Classy as always. (via Mitch Berg)
*shudder*
Darn! This is another one that could come back and haunt them, just like Hillary’s 3:00am phone call ad.
So, we can’t make fun of Baraq Husayn ibn Mahomet and his big ears and middle name.
We can’t get on She Who Must Not Be named, because she’s only a wee widdle girl who might break out in tears.
But a man who endured torture at the hands of Communists, that’s fair game.
More proof that I’m not voting FOR someone, but AGAINST someone else...
I’m with you, Sarge.
Whatever else McCain may have done he has certainly demonstrated his patriotism by giving years of his life in service and in suffering terribly for this country. Heaven knows there is plenty that he and I do not agree on. But I greatly admire his courage and I do not question his dedication to the United States of America.
I cannot say anything even remotely the same for Obama or Clinton.
The only thing you can say about Obama and HRC is that they are both commie liars. And for them that is a compliment.
I didn't know that. I have never noticed his teeth before. If it's a problem you'd think dental science could correct that today.
don’t like candidate mccain but this is just another example of journalism by press release.
They don’t print stories, the modern school of journalism just repreints press releases.
So, you saying she’s a man-eater?
Yes, McCain served in the military. So did McVeigh and bravely. I have heard that the only planes McCain damaged were ours.
I agree physical appearance should not be a criteria. I recall many here who made fun of Kerry's teeth and tan and other features. I never noticed McCain's teeth. His lumpy face and short arms have received more comments. He does look much older than his age and creepy.
With apologies to Hall and Oates, ABSOLTIVELY!!!
Ug, what a horrible image.
I disagree. McCain doesn’t seem to be as slack and wrinkled as many folks 5 years younger than he is. His mother, in her late 90s, also looks about 10 years younger than she is.
I have never noticed McCain’s teeth, either. His shoulders were damaged by repeated torture. His arms aren’t short for his stature, they are practically immobile, and since they cannot extend, I suppose they do appear *short*. I find him less creepy that either the hag or the lightweight liar. I also may be the only person in America who does not think Obama is handsome.
McCain seems to me to be running on a conservative donk platform. I didn’t hear him say he would let any other nation set our final course, just that we would listen to their concerns. He must capture a percentage of the donks and most of the independents in order to win. He is purposefully running a *pleasant* campaign. Probably he has taken note that people who snipe and snark end up being tied to the negativity, while those who remain above the gutter fray are perceived as fair and as statesmen.
It is all politics. About all I can tell myself is that most Presidents end up with a legacy 180 degrees from campaign promises. I cannot believe that when POTUS, he won’t have advisors pointing out the impossibilities and dangers of most of what he would *prefer* to do. He actually has more real power in the Senate then he will have as POTUS, IMO.
If any of this turns out to be incorrect, we are screwed, I agree. But what would change? We are not only already screwed in many respects, we have two other candidates who want to re-enact policies that would extend the recession into a depression while running away in Iraq. They are out-of-the-closet fascists. At least McCain doesn’t seem to be that.
Do I like him, politically? NO! This will be my most unenthusiastic vote ever and one consumed with anxiety over limited options. But McCain took grave damage from sadists and survived. At some level, there is a strong core to the man. It’s all I have, but I couldn’t sit home and let either of the other two win.
