Ohio Democrats Call For The Central Scrutinizer…
RedState.com ^ | 26 March 2008 | .cnI redruM

It was just after the 2000 GOP Michigan Primary, and George W. Bush was peeved. Apparently, a band of saboteur Democrats had switched flags and voted for Senator John McCain in the GOP nominating contest. As a result, then Governor Bush was forced into a harder and more protracted battle for the 2000 Presidential nomination.

Governor Bush did something the Ohio Democrats of 2008 seem utterly incapable. He accepted that political parties indulge in all sorts skullduggery and that “politics ain’t beanbag.” He moved on in a way that no liberal in MoveOn.org is capable of, and continued his march to the GOP nomination.

In 2008, Rush Limbaugh has stolen a page from the Michigan Democratic Party’s playbook and nationalized cross-primary voting under the aegis of “Operation Chaos.” Like many of El Rushbo’s better bits of humor, the name is parody.

Limbaugh’s sobriquet is a take-off on Paranoid President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Operation CHAOS, which made the USA Patriot Act look like a civil liberties walk in the park. Thus Rush Limbaugh slaughters a liberal sacred cow and gets the EIB Black Helicopters of Doom buzzing in fevered imaginations of bog-trotting conspiracy-mongers in one good skit.

The Ohio Democratic Party has responded in a way that only a group of individuals that is logic-deprived enough to send both Sherrod Brown and Dennis Kucinich to congress multiple times could respond. They want to throw the book at Rush Limbaugh’s Kwazy Konservative Kommandoes. According to The Nation, these violators must be violated!

To change parties for a primary, a citizen must pledge, under the penalty of election falsification, that she is affiliated with the party and "supports" its principles. Lying on the pledge is a felony, punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,500 fine. The law also stipulates that poll workers have a "duty" to challenge voters who are "not a member of the political party whose ballot the person desires to vote."

“Sieg Heil, Herr Commandant!”

With The Cuyahoga County Board of Elections preparing to play the role of “Central Scrutinizer,” the Ohio Democrats demand to find out who really meant it when they signed their political loyalty oaths. It will truly be a great leap forward when these rapscallions are taught what happened to Emmanuel Goldstein. If the Democratic Mind-Grokking Proton Ray doesn’t ferret out the truth, GOP saboteurs can always be hooked up to the trusty, old Ferris Persuader.

The Ohio State Attorney General seemed about as eager to take down Limbaugh over this as Congressional Committees were in the 1950’s to give in to The Jim Birch Society and hold serious congressional hearings over the evil plot to fluoridate drinking water. They don’t quite suggest that residents of Cuyahoga County invest in tin foil headgear, but they aren’t exactly auditioning for the role of Elliot Ness either. According to Atlernet, Ohio’s state government officials were politely diplomatic to the belligerent, angry children.

"Secretary of State Brunner has not been contacted by anyone regarding the prosecution of alleged improper crossover voting," Brunner spokesman Jeff Ortega said. "Prosecution of such activities is the exclusive domain of the county prosecutor or the Ohio attorney general."

"We will not make a blanket statement that we would never pursue a case such as that, but it would be our position that a case such as that would be very hard to prosecute," said Ted Hart, spokesman for Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann, who added that a senior attorney in his office said it would be difficult to ascertain voters' motives on particular days. "The county prosecutor would have the first right of refusal."

Ah, but at least activists like Michael Slater of Project Vote will not be cowed by plutocratic apathy. The hole just isn’t deep enough yet; and he’s the man to blast through the hard-pan clay. Slater told the world why what the GOP did was wrong.

"Here we have a real instance of spurring people on to engage in illegal election activities with a real intent to affect the outcome," Slater said. "That is voter fraud. People were encouraged to break the law. They had to declare allegiance to a political party and sign a document under penalty of perjury. Intent is what matters in voter fraud."

"I think this is Rush and others inspiring people to commit voter fraud," Slater said. "They should be brought under investigation."

If the Democrats in Ohio are dumb enough to actually put themselves through the wringer on this, I say “Godspeed!” They will look ludicrous. This is what happens to pettifogging, tin horn despots who attempt to enforce laws that tell people what to think. I’d like to see the epistemological proof that clearly demonstrates that I, .cnI redruM, could not possibly become a loyal Democrat for one day only. That proof cannot exist.

Meanwhile, Rush Limbaugh revs up the bandwagon for this. He already has a bumper tape of “Jailhouse Rock” ready to roll. As a leading raconteur of the modern Conservative movement, Rush Limbaugh has made his bones many times over by eating weedy creeps from crypto-Maoist organizations like Project Vote and ACORN for breakfast. He appreciates what Michael Slater is doing for his show and the GOP.

Do Democrats intentionally try to look this dorky?

Yes. They have to sign a loyalty oath requiring them to be a stupid and moronic as possible.

There you go. Rush should offer that up as an idea to resolve the controversy.

“Do Democrats intentionally try to look this dorky?”

No, they ARE this dorky...they are exactly what they portray. A bunch of immature, spoiled children throwing tantrums when they don’t get their way....

It's been said many times, that voter fraud will only be seen as a problem when Republicans start stepping on the Dems' turf as experts in manipulating the vote.

As a resident of Milwaukee County, where voter fraud is a way of life for many residents (and residents "for one day only"), I welcome the scrutiny.

These people are just so dense. Monday night Dan Abrams had some attorney chick, Jerilyn Merrit, on his show. She was just so outraged. She kept pointing out that these people should be prosecuted for lying on an affidavit.

She mentioned that one person actually wrote on it that they were a Dem just for the day. *snort*

Now I would say that this voter did not lie, but was honest on his affidavit. How is that a felony? They sure didn’t tell the man he couldn’t vote.

Problem with liberals is they never get beyond the schoolyard.

Central Scrutinizer. Handicapper General. Super Delegates.

It's all the same thing, really.

The Democrat Party is philosophically bankrupt. They are nothing more than a vote-buying machine.

Let them jail Limbaugh. It's their funeral.

First of all there is an unassailable defense for any voter: “I changed my mind, then I changed my mind again.”

Of course, Dems would love to refit their magic mind-reading machine they use to accuse the GOP of racism and use it on voters but there’s just not enough time apparently.

Second, there is a reason it’s called a SECRET ballot. It is nobody’s business - Dems, the Nation, Cuyahoga County, etc. - for whom and what a person has voted.

Limbaugh is provoking their worst instincts deliberately. He wants them to act like themselves in public, because that is not particularly pretty. This is one of the better ideas he’s had in years.

The Dems are so convinced that Al Gore would have won Card-Check 2000, that this is too deep for them grok.
