Awwww so cute!
Deer do run fast, don’t they? It’s what they are known for...:) I’m back but not terribly regularly, as I’m depending on library for internet now. Yesterday, their network was down but usually it’s a great service. Hope things have settled down in your world, (((Dolly))).
Correct, it’s a scrub jay. That’s what we have in this part of the world, up and down the state. A little further north of Mama Bear, on the coast, they have the Steller’s Jay.
While we’re talkin’ birds, I caught two mockingbirds in the act yesterday... of mating!!! Spring has sprung:)!!
Hi everyone and Bye. My last two minutes are nearly up. See you in a couple of days. (((HUGS))).
(((HUGS)))
What a sweet photo. Scotties are just the cutest dogs!
I bet that's one of your son's portraits. What a cutie!
Blimey, I hope it doesn't change your opinion of me.
I never run into to The Swimmer. Frankly, I don't think he moves around much anymore.
Yes, he is. And, you know what is really special? When he found a mate, he brought her to me for peanuts. She watched him take a couple peanuts from my hand and then hopped right up and helped herself. The funny thing is, one of the jays is real grabby and the other is very sweet and gentle in the way they take peanuts from me. I still don't know for sure which is the male and which is the female. They look identical, except one is larger than the other. I could probably find out if I did a bit of research.
Happy MIL Wednesday to you:)
Thank you, dita. Hope you had a great day.
*I never run into to The Swimmer.*
Too funny.....After posting the picture you did, I will follow you anywhere~~LOL~~looks just like ‘bloat’.
It's a scrub jay. They are all over the place here in the central valley. I believe they are part of the "jay" species and they have the same temperament as other jays. Raucous and loud and bullies when it comes to other birds, like our finches and sparrows. But, I try to remember that they are just being as God created them. Their behavior is how they survive, and I love my jays. I feel like I am their mother. I've named this one "Precocious", because when he is a baby he wouldn't take "no" for an answer when it came to begging for peanuts. He was such a little pest. LOL
Yes, I love my jays, even though they are the bullies of the neighborhood.
Have you ever heard the "whisper song" of the jay? Normally, you hear them squawking and screeching, but sometimes, if you get close to one, you can hear them chirping the sweetest song very softly, similar to the varied trill of a mockingbird. It's barely audible, like they are singing softly to themselves. I was so surprised to find these raucous birds singing such a sweet song. So out of character with their rather aggressive nature.
Your good wishes are always so sweet dear Kitty. You always bring a ray of sunshine with you wherever you go. Thank you. We don’t have any signs of spring yet. Maybe a few green shoots of Daffodils. We had a pretty warm day today, but rain is coming again for the rest of the week. I’m more than ready for spring. I do love the violets too. Violets and daisies are my favorites.
Yep, no more popcorn, peanuts, berries, tomatoes, or anything spicy. And oh how I love spicy food. Noting is worth eating without jalapenos.
Hey girl! I’m back from Bible Study/Prayer meeting. Yep, that is one of son’s portraits.
I was pretty sure it was, since I peeked at the URL and saw that it was his studio. ;-)
Oh gee, Nan..I just remembered..Mother was eating junior or baby food for a time..Something worked as she did not seem to be affected in her later years.
Your picture is adorable.
I’m back again. I’m beginning to feel like a yoyo. Oh, you peeked did you? I don’t know whose baby she is, but she is a doll baby.
I hope I don’t have to go to baby food. Yuck. I’m eating yogurt, and high fiber foods, and I’m taking an herbal remedy also. I think if I can get the infection under control I’ll be fine. It’s been going on for three years. It has taken that long, plus four different “specialists”, a Colonoscopy and 2 CT Scans for them to diagnos a very common ailment in old ladies. Ah, the wonderful world of modern medicine.
Hi cuz, sorry to hear that you are under the weather. My Aunt has diverticulitis so I understand how you feel. Take care of yourself.
Luv ya, Dixie
PS - you are in my prayers.
