Idol contestant, Kristy Lee Cook, brings down the American Idol House tonight with rendition of Lee Greenwood's mega hit: |
You know what RockerMom, I had intended to vote. I didn’t, not for any of them. I appoligize. I didn’t mean to mislead you but I was worn out last night. I figured you folks would take care of it.
Sorry about that.
Well, you are just lucky that David Cook made it through! You would have been in big trouble with me otherwise! LOL No problem. By the results, it looks lke us folks did take care of it. Might need your help next week though. We have a lot of young girls to outvote!
Thanks for your comments. I agree with them. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Syesha head in the direction of Broadway. I do think there is a market for her singing ability on albums as well. It will be interesting to watch as these three head on out into the futures.
Hey, that was interesting. Thanks for the blurb. I hadn’t realized she had a song hanging around out there.
I’ve enjoyed talking to the both of you also.
Well, we still have next week...
I look forward to it, and what your take will be.

I was out last night and our cable service acted up. I have a very spotty recording of AI in digital format.
Fill me in on what you are addressing. I’d like to know.

Well, once again I appologize. I will definately vote next week.
I don’t think you’re in much danger though after seeing the numbers this time.

Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2l0hBnLgqMA WARNING: Your ears will bleed and you might want to cover your eyes!
As long as you vote for Cook next week, you are forgiven! LOL
Still, anything can happen and has. We must gather as many Cook voters as we can. My friends and I are pulling out all the stops. Trying to recruit more Cook voters!
This video is for you too. After all, you were the one that linked us to the other AI thread! :)

I watched it. It certainly wasn’t my type of music. I wasn’t shocked, but it was a waste of time IMO.
BTW, wouldn’t Simon be aware of what she was going to sing before the performance on the air?
His look is a little more pronounced than mine would be, but I know where he is coming from.
I don’t mind voting for him. He does have the talent IMO.
Good luck.

I guess maybe shocked wasn’t the right word. Appalled because of that atrocious peformance. You would think they would all know what she was going to sing but maybe seeing the whole performance was a little more than they had in mind? I don’t know. Whatever the case may be, it was a waste of time.
Thank you! I appreciate it.
Waste of time gets my vote.
Idol In Iraq: Awkward Song Choices Hurt Syesha, Cook Ready to Grab the Crown | Published by MTV News on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 3:16 pm. MTV Editors Note: Its crazy serious and difficult for the U.S. Armed Forces in Iraq, but our soldiers still find time for a little fun and escape: just like many of you, they love their weekly dose of American Idol. We made friends on the Internet with some members of the Armys 82nd Airborne division (Fort Bragg, what up!), who will be sending us their review of each Idol installment. They get Idol a day later than we do, and their reports might not arrive until well after the show has aired (because, of course, things like communications blackouts do happen when youre in the military taking care of URGENT BUSINESS). But you dont mind because they are helping give you the freedom to watch Idol in the first place.
Our soldiers each week (L-R): PFC Joshua Miranda, 22 (Orlando, FL); PFC Nathan Puckett, 19 (Cynthiana, KY); SPC Cory Combs, 21 (Plymouth, MA); and SSG Steve Cody, 27 (Los Angeles, CA) Only two of our soldiers caught this weeks Idol performances (Joshua and Steve), and even halfway across the globe, they could see Syesha Mercados elimination coming a mile away. For their money, our boys in camo are betting that the Idol crown will be placed on the noggin of David Cook on next weeks finale. Here are their impressions of this weeks renditions, after the jump. ROUND ONE David Archuleta, And So It Goes by Billy Joel Cody: I think he did really good - there was feeling. Miranda: Really good. Syesha Mercado, If I Aint Got You by Alicia Keys Cody: One of her best performances ever. Miranda: That was awesome. She is awesome. David Cook, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face by Roberta Flack Cody: I think he did a really good job. Miranda: I liked it. He did good, and I like that song, too. ROUND TWO David Archuleta, With You by Chris Brown Cody: I think his song choice was brave and wise. His fan base is young, so he needs to connect with them by singing a more modern song. Miranda: He did OK, but I didnt think that song was good for him. Syesha Mercado, Fever by Peggy Lee Cody: I thought it was fun, but probably not good enough to make it through elimination. Miranda: It was OK. She was hot. David Cook, Dare You to Move by Switchfoot Cody: He did OK, but I honestly expected a little more out of him. Miranda: I think he did great. ROUND THREE David Archuleta, Longer by Dan Fogelberg Cody: I think he sang it well. The song itself is terrible. It was like a clichéd Hallmark card, with the word love for every fifth word. Miranda: I didnt like the song, but he did good. Syesha Mercado, Hit Me Up by Gia Farrell Cody: I liked her performance a lot. She had a lot of energy, too. Miranda: I liked it, but I dont think she is right for that type of music. David Cook, I Dont Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith Cody: Best of the night. He really made it his own. Miranda: I think David Cook should be our next American Idol. HAT TIP TO MTV News Blog |
Great Photo, the camera person was right on when they caught Simon with his mouth dropped..was a great performance. Her energy factor was beyond awesome!!!
Thank so you much for sharing that. Made my day! Also, you did a great job adding the graphics and posting the story.
I have to agree with PFC Joshua Miranda: "I think David Cook should be our next American Idol.
"Before she left the "Idol Extra" stage, Syesha autographed a stack of headshots for the audience. She was sweet and accommodating but a little distant. When she got to the awkward, black-clad teenager in front of me, however, Syesha slowed down. "Are you shy?" Syesha inquired, gazing at the girl whose down-turned expression betrayed a critical lack of self-confidence. The answer was inaudible. Syesha looked deep into the troubled girl's eyes and gave an answer both loving and firm: "Don't be shy, girl!"- Stephanie Lysaght/ 'American Idol': Syesha Mercado faces the Idol Extra reaper
I was actually surprised none of them expressed the idea Syesha was trying to spice it up a bit to get votes. I thought she was. I don’t think that’s necessarily an unfair attempt. You have to do you best to appeal to your base, and if some of that base in guys, well...
I liked the reviews. The only one I didn’t necessarily agree with was that David C.’s best song was the last. It may have been, that just wasn’t my take on it. I thought his first was his best.
Thanks for the post.
You liked it then. That’s good to know. It didn’t hit with me, but hey, I think it’s great that someone liked it. She did have plenty of energy. I’ll grant you that. Thanks.
