The US embassy in Cairo on Tuesday denied reports that a US Navy chartered ship opened fire on Egyptians near the Suez Canal and killed one person, insisting no one was hurt. The Global Patriot "fired warning shots at a small boat approaching the ship as it was preparing to transit the Suez Canal Monday evening," an embassy statement said.
"Initial reports from the Global Patriot indicate that no casualties were sustained on either vessel."
US warships in the Middle East have previously been harassed or attacked by small boats.

The Egyptians claim one is dead.
In my experience, Arabs lie as easily as the Clintons.
Glad to hear that nobody was injured.
Give ‘em time, they’ll have some body wrapped in 2000 year old gauze before long, to prove we just killed them.
Delivered by Green Helmet Guy in an Al Reuters doctored photo no less. Find a swarthy infidel, shoot him, and use the clone stamp tool to add more bullet wounds. Breaking exclusive by Dan Rather.
Yep, par for the course. Dan will be on top of it.
It’s good there were no casualties, but how in heaven, could ir be that these Egyptian boaters could not have known that they should not approach the US Navy ship after all these years?
It does not look like a US Navy ship to me.
Was Hillary there ducking bullets at the time? Show me the Video...
It is a leased vessel, doesn’t look anything like a USN vessel.
True..It does not...But they were also verbally warned off with loudspeakers not to approach the ship. I find it odd that they would be allowed to hawk their wares in the canal area without being told the rules about when, and when they could not approach other ships.
One might have died of dehydration after blowing their bowels during the warning fire.
It’s my experience that, like the Panama Canal, there are lots of boats sidling up to vessels transiting those kinds of waters selling stuff like cigarettes sodas, etc. and they are not modern boats. I’m thinking that this guys radio probably wasn’t on or working. That being said, he shouls have turned away when shots were fired at him.
Oh well. Better luck next time guys. Don't be too dissappointed. You secured your vessel and that is what is important here.
