There are 186 people in this country who ultimately could select the Democratic presidential nominee.
Most of them do not know they'll soon wield such power. They will be picked by their state parties or by the party's national chairman to be on the Credentials Committee to the Democratic National Convention. It's normally a political reward, but this year the job could seem more like punishment. Four Georgians will be among the chosen.
If the dispute over what to do about Florida and Michigan whose Democratic primary results have not been recognized by the party is not settled by the time Democrats gather in August in Denver, the Credentials Committee will probably make the call on what to do about delegates from the rogue states, which defied the party by moving up their primary dates.

Should read: “Fate of U.S. cities and flat screen TV’s may rest with panel.”
“There are 186 people in this country who ultimately could select the Democratic presidential nominee.”
And The Beast has a “file” on each and every one of them; their children, their siblings, their parents and pets...
(Good article.)
Looks like selected not elected!
The issue surrounding the FL & MI delegates is a mess that the Dems absolutely must resolve. I can’t believe that the party that wants all votes to be counted might disenfranchise the votes from two of the largest states. At any rate, this is going to be fun to watch.
This will be a tails you lose. Heads we win. If they show usual rat “courage” they will pick the beast and send the Blacks packing. If the pick Barack McGovern Obama the Hispanics will walk, but best of all either way about 20% of Democrats will walk. Nice.
Given other articles today that show the DemonRat leadership and many of the MSM do not want the Witch to win, it’s imperative for Freepers and other Republicans who can still vote in available primaries to cross over and vote for the Witch just to keep the chaos going.
Yes, this is a Rat problem, but ultimately it could tear apart our nation as well.
As usual, “chaos” cannot always be contained.

Okay, you win, but just hope this train wreck in the making does not wreck my health in the process. lol
THREE CLINTONISTAS CONTROL THE CONVENTION CREDENTIALS COMMITTEE, WHICH DECIDES ON THE SEATING OF DELEGATES -
Credentials Committee
Elected to chair the Credentials Committee are Alexis Herman, James Roosevelt, Jr. and Eliseo Roques-Arroyo. Alexis Herman served as U.S. Secretary of Labor from 1997 to 2001. She served as DNC Chief of Staff for Chairman Ron Brown and later was named CEO of the 1992 Democratic National Convention. Since 2005, she has served as a Co-Chair of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee and also served as a Co-Chair of the Commission on Presidential Nomination Timing and Scheduling. James Roosevelt, Jr. is President and CEO of Tufts Health Plan, a Massachusetts based Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) and was formerly Associate Commissioner for Retirement Policy of the Social Security Administration in the Clinton Administration. He is the chief legal counsel for the Massachusetts Democratic Party and Co-Chair of the DNC Rules and Bylaws Committee. Eliseo Roques-Arroyo, a native of Puerto Rico, served as Executive Assistant to Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Senate Minority Leader Miguel Hernandez-Agosto and to Puerto Rico Delegate to Congress Antonio J. Colorado. He is a former Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Puerto Rico and presently a member of the DNC.
The Credentials Committee is charged with coordinating issues around the selection of delegates and alternates to the Convention and will likely meet in the summer. The committee will issue a report that is the first official item of business at the Convention.
NOTE: Michigan and Florida have 313 delegates not yet in play.
The action of the Credentials Committee is not final. Like all reports of all Committees, it will come to the floor of the Convention. There, a majority of all the delegates already seated (without dispute) will decide whether to accept the recommendation of Credentials, or to substitute the Convention's own conclusion.
In short, whoever controls the most floor votes, elected delegates and superdelegates, before Florida and Michigan are decided, will control the decision about the Florida and Michigan delegates. And that will be regardless of whoever controls a majority on the Credentials Committee.
As the former Parliamentarian of a national political convention, I know this stuff. The AJC does not.
Congressman Billybob
I have a question about the delegates from MI & FL that currently are being barred fropm the committee. Does that include the superdelgates? That is, if all of the delegates from those states are barred, does it mean that both plegded delegates and superdelegates are barred from the convention? If so, then Hillary is really screwed because many of the superdelegatess in those states tend to support her.
Prediction: Hillary will drop out of the race before the convention to avoid a bloody fight. The DNC will make her an offer she can’t refuse.
“And The Beast has a file on each and every one of them; their children, their siblings, their parents and pets...”
Doesn’t really matter. The Obama and Clinton campaigns will be represented in porportion to the delegates each have.
And that panel has to be on anti-anxiety drugs right now
The Dems absolutely have to have that 90% and more black vote or they are toast as a party
But the truth on Obama is coming out
Going to be a real barn burner for the dem convention
My prediction is that coverage inside the convention hall will be interrupted with coverage of the death and injury count in the streets outside the convention hall.
Democrats never rule unselfishly, there will be riots over this.
I don’t know the answer but think it might include the Super Delegates. That is why there has been a discrepancy about the number of them. I read many months ago about there being about 846. Now I am seeing that the battle is over about 800 of them.
