** EXCERPT **
This Easter Sunday, the holiest day of the Christian calendar, many pastors will start their sermons about the Resurrection of Jesus and weave in a pointed message about racism and bigotry, and the need to rise above them.
Some pastors began to rethink their sermons on Tuesday, when Senator Barack Obama gave a speech about race, seeking to calm a furor that had erupted over explosive excerpts of sermons by his pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.
The controversy drove the nation to the unpatrolled intersection of race and religion, and as many pastors prepared for their Easter message they said they felt compelled to talk about it. Their congregants were writing and e-mailing them: some wanted to share their emotional reactions to Mr. Obamas speech; others asked how Mr. Wright, the minister, could utter such inflammatory things from the pulpit.
Some ministers interviewed over the last several days said they would wait until after Easter to preach on it all, because Easter and headlines do not mix. But others said there was no better moment than Easter, when sanctuaries swelled with their biggest crowds of the year, and redemption was the dominant theme.

I guess you could start with two wrongs don’t make a Wright. Or Whitey agent of the devil.
Uh, just a hint. If your pastor preaches on race relations on Easter Sunday, you might consider changing churches.
Also interesting is MoDowd’s piece. If memory serves, she’s bowdlerized Obama’s ‘typical white person’ quote to take out the ‘inbred’ reference.

“The 11 oclock hour is the most segregated hour in America.”
——Rev Dr Martin Luther King, Jr.——
“We constantly affirm our trust in God through cultural expression of a Black worship service and ministries which address the Black Community.”
——Trinity UCC Statement of Faith ——
Are they kidding?
Race and religion are the most patrolled and controlled parts of the media anymore.
If your a white guy, the only media correct thing you can say is an apology and it better be fully vetted before you read it for racial and religious undertones.
If your anyone else just damn whitey and christians and you count on media protection and promotion!
She probably never listened to Obama's speech, but rather took the transcript from Breitbart.com that omitted his "that are bred into, ah, ah our experiences" for unkown reseason.
I was most offended by Obama's implication that White Folk are bred to be racist.
Obama’s campaign song. To the Music of Jeremiah was a Bullfrog
Jeremiah was a preacher
Was a good friend of mine
I never understood a single word he said
but I helped him drink his wine
Yes, but wasn’t this from his interview the next day, when he was defending his grandma toss? Maybe yes, and it is that interview on Breitbart that had bailed him out?
Obama Talk Fuels Easter Sermons (Barf Alert)
just typical white.....guilt!!!
Agreed, if your pastor uses Easter Sunday to talk about race relations, he is off topic.
It’s painful to read someone like Dowd who struggle’s so hard making sure that she write as unclearly as she thinks about politics.
I don’t know, Media Matters has both a transcript and a clip of the quote, and he clearly says ‘bred in’, which Dowd has taken out for her version.

Thousands of hate-Whitey churches will spread hatred and bigotry using the protection accorded to religions.
I heard excerpts from the new pastor at BHOs church. He compared former pastor Wrights ordeals to the crucifixion of Christ.

Otis is keeping the hate alive
A political sacrifice has been made by this racist SOB.
You know, though, that Media Matters is a Clintonista propaganda organ and moonbat rallying point (as shown by the handle of one of the early posters, "Moonbatyoubet").
