'It Was a Little Bit Heated': Richardson's Bad News Call to Hillary
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Next time, maybe Bill Richardson should consider text messaging. Something along these lines, perhaps:

I M not 4 U. Me & BHO: BFF. CUL8R

Of course we can only imagine how Hillary's reply would have read. But Richardson did have the moxie to make one of the world's tougher phone calls: informing Hillary Clinton that despite having been appointed by her husband to two cabinet positions, he was endorsing Barack Obama.

Kidding aside, think of what it says about Hillary's personality that so much press attention has focused on the call. Imagine if Richardson had instead decided to endorse Clinton. Not many people would be wondering about the atmospherics of his conversation with Obama. Richardson appeared on this morning's Today, and weekend co-anchor Lester Holt wasted absolutely no time: his very first question to the NM governor was about that dreaded phone call.

Considering Hillary’s response to Richardson’s phone call, imagine what it would be like for the poor schmuck who might have to call her at 3:00 a.m. to inform her about incoming nuclear warheads from Red China or Russia.

LOL. At least he didnt' say that he heard furniture crashing in the background, but maybe that had to wait for after she put down the phone:

"That Richardson chose to divulge that things got a bit hot has to be taken as campaign strategy, a means of reinforcing Hillary's image as not the world's most likeable person."

The article points out Richardson did not have to say the conversation got heated ... but he did. Seems like he is trying to twist the knife a little and show she is not likeable. It makes it clear the Clinton campaign is very, very tense right now and I believe they are like a wounded trapped animal ready to lash out ... it could be a moment to remember! “Dean-scream” kind of moment.

Me thinks Mr. Richardson had better be careful, very careful.

It was reported that the 2 Bill’s watched the Superbowl together. I’m sure the Clinton’s thought their buddy Richardson was solidly behind Hillary. Lol. I can just imagine the fowl names she called him!

I suspect he held out as long as he could, out of regard for people who had elevated him; but that he was offended by the Clinton tactics against Obama.
Richardson is in a position to know directly, things we only know indirectly about the Clintons and how they have run this campaign.

The pundits have always believed President Clinton was the greatest politician of the last half of the twentieth century. Richardson proves otherwise.

The Clinton's political clout cannot transcend the rabid leftist's desire to have one of their own in office. Loyalty is given only conditionally and only when it is the closest approximation to leftist values.

A phone call to Hillary Clinton makes Bill Richardson's stomach "upset all day?"

Doesn't exactly sound like Dick Cheney does he?

Actually, the hoopla about this endorsement is “much ado about nothing.”
