McCain Lead Widens - Rasmussen Daily Tracking

Daily Presidential Tracking Poll Thursday, March 20, 2008

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Thursday shows John McCain’s lead growing against both potential Democratic opponents. McCain currently leads Barack Obama 49% to 42% and Hillary Clinton 51% to 41% margin (see recent daily results). African-American support for Clinton has collapsed, falling to 55% in the general election match-up. Obama, on the other hand, earns solid support from African-American voters but attracts only 36% of white voters in a match-up with McCain.

Over the past month, McCain has gained ground in Ohio, Michigan, Colorado, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania. Both Democrats continue to lead in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut and California (see summary of recent state general election polling).

On the fifth anniversary of the War in Iraq, the candidates all had something to say on the topic but the politics of the issue have become much more complicated (see Video.) Joe Conason offers a commentary on The Folks Who Brought You Iraq.

In the race for the Democratic Presidential Nomination, Obama now leads Clinton 46% to 43%. Before the story broke about his former Pastor, Obama led by eight. (see recent daily results). New polling data released today shows that Clinton leads handily in West Virginia’s Presidential Primary.

Excellent news. El Zibo and the other McCain haters do not like this news.

I have seen Rasmussen on TV. He is a “typical white person.” Can he be trusted? He also looks old enough to be someone’s grandfather.

Given the choices, McCain has this election won. He still won’t receive my vote, however.

Hell. Don't ask me. I'm just a typical white person!

We are really not concerned and have no interest in who you vote for.

Fortunately, saner heads are prevailing.

Clicking on the link and going to state head to head, what is amazing is that Hillary still gets trounced by more points than Obama does. Nevada even has Obama winning widely over McCain but McCain winning widely over Hillary.

From here, it looks like the only way for them to win is O'bama/Clinton, or Clinton/O'bama.

I can't see that happening.

Clinton wouldn't give the time of day to someone who almost took her throne away. O'bama doesn't want to tie his wagon to Clinton's star.

And he would rather stand in front of Michael Moore in the donut line than in between Clinton and the Presidency.

It's time for John Fraud Kerry to ride in on his white horse and save the Democrat Party.

Please.

As a registered McCain detractor, (don’t hate anyone-even Hillary), I am glad for the news. It makes my leaning towards not voting for that office - the first time in 40 years of voting - more palatable.

Mr. Scott Rasmussen is an Evangelical Christian and a trustee and president of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association ("God's Square Mile at the Jersey Shore"), in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.

(My wife sings in the choir over the summer, and my daughter plays in the Ocean Grove Summer Band.)

Poll: Divisive Dem Contest Could Boost McCain

As Democratic Senators Barack Obama of Illinois and Hillary Clinton of New York slug it out for the nomination, many of their supporters -- at least in Pennsylvania, site of the next major primary -- aren't committed to the party's ticket in November, according to a Franklin & Marshall College Poll.

Among Obama supporters, 20 percent said they would vote for Sen. John McCain of Arizona, the Republican nominee, if Clinton beats their candidate for the nomination. Among Clinton supporters, 19 percent said they would support McCain in November if Obama is the Democratic nominee. (See poll)

Let’s see how McCain does after both the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party pick their POTUS/VP candidates. I’m not saying that it will definitely make a major impact on how many votes McCain will receive on November 4, but it might make an impact.

The left is on display and the more they mention the details of what they plan to inflict on us the more people see they are the least capable to lead. Obama wants to raise the Capital Gains tax in a recession? Yes, let us really throw the economy into the crapper. Top that off with all the other promises of programs and giveaways they want to fund and it becomes clear that McCain who represents a light of fiscal sanity in the otherwise liberal darkness is the only choice for President. The others are more fit to be the person who gives away door prizes at class reunions than President of anything.

It was not long ago in the past our Presidents were leaders in their own right before they entered politics now they are more likely to have did nothing of note or real substance. They burst on the scene the product of law schools and political marketing bereft of any core philosophy on the limits or scope of government. When comparing Hillary, Obama, and McCain only one has any real substance. Granted McCain would not compare to any of our first Presidents but given the limited choices of two very Horrible ones compared to one that is only someone cantankerous McCain will be the choice of most of America. The kevorkian left can not be allowed to euthanize America.

Wow. Once again, as I've posted elsewhere, here is my election prediction:

Hillary steals nomination
Enraged Obamanites vote for McCain in protest
Frustrated Conservatives stay home on election day
McCain wins
Conservatives get blamed for everything for the next 4 years
