As has been noted by NewsBusters correspondents Brent Baker, Kyle Drennen, and Clay Waters, the Mainstream Media has mostly assumed an attitude of respectful awe towards Barack Obama's March 18 speech on race. That emotional awe towards Obama's speech has reached the level of mass weeping in the Leftwing blogosphere. The leftists profess to be so awestruck by that speech that it seems mass crying will soon replace the fainting attacks at future Obama appearances.
Confessions of drama queen tearful reactions to Obama's speech has reached comedic proportions on both the Democratic Underground and the Daily Kos. Although one suspects that these confessions of tearduct flooding at the sound of Obama's voice may be a bit contrived, it doesn't detract from the hillarity of the comments. First a sampling of weeping confessions from the Democratic Underground:
If you didn't cry, someone needs to check your pulse. It was a speech that christens an era.
i started to tear up while reading the text on my phone at a restaurant. i had to stop reading it.
I called in sick so I could watch it. I was seen crying in my recliner. My tough husband--who didn't cry when his father died--came home from work and blubbered like a baby.

Not to be outdone by the DUers, the denizens of the Daily Kos confessed to their own mass weepings:
I wept while reading Obama's speech. Then I wept again while watching it. I have teared up again and again reading the many personal accounts of how Obama's words have caused change and healing.
Barack Obama...has made this grown man cry more times than I care to admit.
I haven't stopped crying since the speech. Off and on, all day, in the car, at the sink, at the desk....I just break out in tears.

One fringe benefit of the left trying to convince themselves of the supposed profundity of Obama's speech by making public avowals of uncontrollable weeping is that it has inspired a terrific song parody by the DUmmie FUnnies co-host, Charles Henrickson, who wrote "The Lib'ral White Crowd That Cried" to the tune of Johnny Ray's The Little White Cloud That Cried:

Lying racists who stink of corruption make me cry too. To think that this man insulted his own grandmother for his own personal gain. And on national TV! Makes me weep.
Amazing how strong the press reaction is to the press, when the polls show that the voters think he was full of crap.

I am not the most frequent church-goer by any stretch. The too frequent quotes like this above illustrate the complete lack of religion on the left. They are looking for a savior, not a president.
It is sad that liberals of any color or gender are always corrupt and without moral.
While truly great African-American leaders such as Condi, Powell, Thomas, Steele and Watts are routinely trashed by the left.
I Cried So Hard I Laughed
It was a horrible speech...even liberals who liked him thought it was merely a damage control speech. His poll numbers continue to plummet. Why are they acting like it resurrected his candidacy?
He still did not address why he called for the firing of Don Imus for the same stuff he is defending Wright.
I am sorry, I am not getting it....my own polling shows the speech was a complete failure.
And I thought it was the three hotdogs I had for supper was upsetting my stomach.

The funny thing is that Obama says he wants to open up discussion on race. However Obama camp posted his speech on YouTube, but only those who kiss Obama’s butt get their comments posted.
