Just got a call from Kristinn on-scene.
This is the SECOND round of attacks that the station and Freepers have withstood today.
Cops are clearing the street of cars so the violent radicals can march down the street to the recruiting center unencumbered.
Crowds have been throwing rocks, paint bombs in GLASS bottles, water bottles, and anything esle they can throw.
MPDC Chief Cathy Lanier was there before the attacks, ORDERING HER OFFICERS to DO NOTHING if the station was attacked.
No arrests are being made.
More info as I get it.
Kristinn is asking any Freepers and Friends in the area to come down and stand with the Freepers there now.
Be aware that this is not a place for children.
So I guess shooting the ba$+ard$ is out of the question...
Check your city for actions. MoveOn.org has organized this into a national protest. Check their website and those of other Lefty organizations.
Take care!! We’ll be praying for backup...
Get pictures & kick booty. YouTube is waiting...
Her Fax number: (202) 727-9524
what the heck is she thinking?
There is probably a protest scheduled for today. Check out a Lefty site or two and you’ll find where they are close to you. Then get out there with your flag! If there isn’t one, then take some pizza down to a local recruiter, or just stop by to support them.
I think the Marine Barracks are right down the street...
14th and I???
When it absolutely needs to be taken care of...
You could get the Silent Drill Team to fix bayonets...
Somebody get a bugle and sound charge...
Prayer is good, but I’ll bet there is a protest near you. Check out the Lefty sites in your city. If not, call your local recruiters and give them support.
"Frustrated wish I were there" Bump!
If the police chief had half a brain, she would unleash her officers and let them round up the rioters.
Apparently she has allowed some arrests in other locations, but has FORBIDDEN the officers at the recruiting center location to take any action.
be CAREFUL out there, chapter members!!!
"lanier" is an IDIOT & a DISGRACE to law enforcement.
free dixie,sw
I’m not in DC today so can’t be there, but Lanier’s dereliction of duty will show us what Fenty’s really made of.
Sounds like Berkeley has been on the phone with DC on how to hate Bush.
If the DC chief has ordered her beat cops not to intervene, that is Wanton Endangerment. She is ordering her people not to protect the public, and it’s an deliberate violation of her mission to the community. Phrase it as such.
while the Grannies will knit outside the recruiters office!
Take Action in the Nations Capital!
Today has been an extraordinary day! It’s not too late to call in sick of 5 years of war! Join us!
March 19th offers a unique opportunity for our movement to grow after 5 years of war. We know there are key pillars of support that enable this illegal and immoral war for oil and global domination to continue. On March 19th we will take nonviolent direct action to disrupt each of these key pillars in Washington DC and in communities across this country. In what we hope will be an unprecedented day of collective action and solidarity we will take a variety of actions over a 24-hour period to commemorate 5 years of war.

In what we hope will be an unprecedented day of collective action and solidarity we will take a variety of actions over a 24-hour period to commemorate 5 years of war.
Our actions will begin on Tuesday, March 18 at 5:00 pm with Sound the Alarm at Union Station. Take 30 minutes for peace in this exciting and creative action! We will gather 2 blocks away @ 5:00 pm at 400 N Capitol St.From there we will move in small groups or as individuals into the designated area. All at once we will freeze in place for 5 minutes. When we move again, we will step forward using our voices in a call to the people to Rise Up End the War. Leafleting for Wednesday will follow.Check out Frozen Grand Central to see a cool video of what this can look like!
Wednesday, March 19th will begin early with a Public Assembly at 7:30 AM in McPherson Square (15th and K St.) with information about the day and how to plug in. At 8 AM some groups will blockade the IRS, others will shut down war profiteers in the K St. Corridor, No War No Warming will be calling for a separation of oil & state at the American Petroleum Institute, while the Grannies will knit outside the recruiters office! At the same time, the March of the Dead will begin in Arlington Cemetery and process through downtown. At 9 AM the Veterans March for Peace will begin with several stops, culminating with actions near the White House and Veterans Administration. At noon, students will dance in the streets saying Funk the War and exposing war profiteers, recruiters and media along the way. There will also be a demonstration of waterboarding outside the White House in the mid-afternoon.
Imagine thousands of us moving throughout the streets in Downtown DC, in big groups and small, all working to expose, disrupt and transform those that are promoting and profiting from war.
Cool. I can freep from my own home...I live at 12th and M NW. I would come out, but by the time I get home, it’s gonna be 6PM...not only that..but I think my being epileptic would make me being there a bad idea.
I can't type the rest of what I'm thinking....so I'll just save time for the mods...

"No arrests are being made."
Sounds familiar . . . heard it all before . . . throwing rocks; paint bombs; angry hoodlums running in the streets . . . it's all so deja vu . . . something about a republic and something that starts with a 'W' . . . Weimar, I think,
