Just got a call from Kristinn on-scene.
This is the SECOND round of attacks that the station and Freepers have withstood today.
Cops are clearing the street of cars so the violent radicals can march down the street to the recruiting center unencumbered.
Crowds have been throwing rocks, paint bombs in GLASS bottles, water bottles, and anything esle they can throw.
MPDC Chief Cathy Lanier was there before the attacks, ORDERING HER OFFICERS to DO NOTHING if the station was attacked.
No arrests are being made.

Kristinn is asking any Freepers and Friends in the area to come down and stand with the Freepers there now.
Be aware that this is not a place for children.
It’s too bad that you aren’t close by. You might still check because not all of the protests are at RCs. We’re going out against a group tonight (as we do every Friday) at a busy intersection that isn’t near a center. Next time you might be able to get off early.

Love it - sarc/ Looking at the complaint categories, none of them appear to cover not doing their jobs, arresting protesters, protecting civilians or property.

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) Two people were arrested Wednesday during a protest marking the fifth anniversary of the war in Iraq.
Eleven protesters with Des Moines Catholic Workers carried signs and a mock coffin draped with an American flag into the hallway of the Armed Forces Career Center, a Des Moines recruiting office.
Officials at the center called police and asked the protesters to leave.
Edward Bloomer, 61, and Kirk Brown, 25, both of Des Moines, were arrested for trespassing and taken to jail.
Protester Mona Shaw of Iowa City said she believes it’s her moral obligation to stand up against the war.
‘’I was raised that when you saw something wrong happening, you should get involved to stop it,’’ said Shaw, who has a sister in the Navy.
Shaw said her sister is about to be deployed on her fifth tour to Iraq.
‘’This is personal for me,’’ Shaw said. ‘’I’ve stood at funerals with flag drawn coffins.’’
‘’She tells me she’s very proud of me,’’ Shaw said of her sister. ‘’She says ‘You go. You stop this ... thing.’’
Shaw said protesting at a military recruitment center was appropriate.
‘’It makes me feel sad because people are being assigned a horrible task, to an enterprise, where there’s a high chance they’re going to be killed,’’ she said. ‘’I’m here to keep working class kids from getting killed.’’
Protester Reetzi Hughes, 14, of Des Moines, said too many young people are dying in the war. She thinks military recruiters are starting too young in contacting high school students.

Organizers said they chose the IRS headquarters to highlight the taxpayer fund being used for military operations overseas. Organizers said 31 protesters were detained for crossing police barricades.
WASHINGTON — Hundreds of protesters fanned out across the nation’s capital Wednesday to call for an end to military operations in Iraq, but city police reported none of the major civic disruptions organizers had predicted.
The events, scheduled to coincide with the five-year anniversary of the start of the Iraq war, came a few days after pro-war groups marched on the National Mall in support of a continued U.S. presence in Iraq.
Leslie Cagan, co-chair of United for Peace and Justice, said the goal of dispersed demonstrations was to bring awareness to the “shock and awe, shockingly and awful occupation in Iraq still.”
Small groups of protesters with signs reading “Out of Iraq” and “Bring Them Home” wandered outside lobbyists’ offices on K Street, while about 100 more huddled outside the American Petroleum Institute’s main door accusing the oil industry of perpetuating the war.
Another group of veterans and peace activists marched on the National Mall and the National Archives with upside-down flags and anti-war cadences.
A marching band playing Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” led nearly 200 others down to the Internal Revenue Service Headquarters to protest the use of taxpayer funds in the war. Organizers said 31 protesters were detained there, although city police said only one was charged.
Law enforcement also reported at noon only sporadic, short-lived traffic backups on downtown streets, despite protesters’ plans to snarl traffic and block major roads to highlight their message.
A group of counter protesters stood outside the Armed Forces Recruiting Center downtown, but said police did a good job keeping the two groups apart.
“They didn’t let them down this street at all,” said Kristinn Taylor, head of the D.C. chapter of Free Republic. “[The other protesters] are throwing in their lot with our terrorist enemies overseas, and we just wanted to make sure nothing happened to this center.”
Tarak Kauff, an organizer with Veterans for Peace, said group leaders emphasized nonviolent civil disobedience to Wednesday’s participants. His group carried with them a mock arrest warrant for President Bush to be delivered during their protests outside the White House later in the day.
“This is a horrible war, and we need to stop it and take care of our veterans when they get back,” he said.
A number of the groups involved in Wednesday’s events are planning to return to Washington again next month, to protest expected congressional testimony by Gen. David Petraeus, head of Multi-National Force– Iraq. But groups that support the Iraq mission are also planning major rallies of their own for that testimony.
