Barack Obama is preparing to deliver a major address Tuesday on race, politics and unifying the country after being hounded by questions about his relationship to a pastor whose sermons have been laced with anti-American invective.
In a speech whose religious significance could compare to one given in December by former GOP presidential hopeful and Mormon Mitt Romney, Obama may be forced to explain the philosophy of the 8,000-strong Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where the Democratic presidential candidate has been a congregant for 20 years.
In announcing the morning address, to be delivered in Philadelphia, Obama would not say specifically what he will discuss, but suggested he wants to cool down the atmosphere after incendiary remarks by his pastor, retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., blanketed the airwaves over the past week.

Well I read it fairly closely.
And I suppose it’s about as good as he could do but I’m not convinced it’s going to fly.
Couple of points....
...he makes a big deal about himself being half white. He throws his own grandmother under the bus for her alleged remark that black men scared her.
....he remarks on “conservative” talk show hosts who expose “bogus” racial divides but who don’t further address REAL racial issues.
...The Ashley story makes no sense.
“Will he wear a flag pin?”
I guess they couldn’t find one;
‘cause he STILL doesn’t have one on his lapel!

If you read Obama's supposed speech at Drudge it would appear that Obama is going to "pull the race card" when in fact the real issue is about the possible lack of judgement of a Presidential candidate. Maybe he can camoflage his lack of judgement by painting it with racism. But then, what does one expect from one who would remain for twenty years in a hate-filled church.
