Barack Obama is preparing to deliver a major address Tuesday on race, politics and unifying the country after being hounded by questions about his relationship to a pastor whose sermons have been laced with anti-American invective.
In a speech whose religious significance could compare to one given in December by former GOP presidential hopeful and Mormon Mitt Romney, Obama may be forced to explain the philosophy of the 8,000-strong Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, where the Democratic presidential candidate has been a congregant for 20 years.
In announcing the morning address, to be delivered in Philadelphia, Obama would not say specifically what he will discuss, but suggested he wants to cool down the atmosphere after incendiary remarks by his pastor, retired Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., blanketed the airwaves over the past week.

but it’s not exciting. nobody will be fainting that’s for sure

I don't get it either. But I bet it's total bull chit..

Brit Hume is not buying the speech!
Here's one in the same speech - he excuses Rev Wright for being from the bitter old school, yet BHO claims had never heard Wright utter a racial bad word.
The Sista Soulja phrase came from the 92 Clinton campaign where he was forced to repudiate the violent (or sexual?) lyrics of a black rap musician by that name.
Since then, the media has always talked about candidates having to distance themselves from people associated with their core voters.
They used the term with in the 2000 campaign wth Bush and (the conservative mostly white Carolina based college... name escapes me right now).
I even saw it used recently relating to Hagee and McCain.
My point is that I don’t think the media has enough guts to use it now againt their hero Obama.
He is right, there is nothing that can make all the youtube videos go away.
No. It won’t. It’s just a campaign speech full of victim talk. He’s toast.
With champagne? This speech will not go down well in mainstream America. After she whips him in Pennsylvania next month, Obama will be lucky to get the VP nod. My guess is this whole mess just disqualified Obama from any serious consideration as VP. The Clintons are smart enough to know a race-baiter when they see one.
Exactly.
I think he put his audience to sleep. They were expected the Magician to pull one more trick out of his hat.
Post of the day.
CNN: Obama: Constitution stained by ‘sin of slavery’
“I think she is afraid he will co-opt her “It takes a village” motto.”
Yeah, It takes a ghetto.
I wonder If Chrissy Matthew’s legs are really tingling now!
What the heck does THAT mean?!
That made no sense to me either.
I agree- I think this may well get him the nomination of his party. The general- not going to happen.
I am not sure which one will win. But your right that he won’t drop out at this point in time. And neither will Hillary.
