We can't let Tucker Carlson's show, which I've enjoyed, pass into history as it did last night without a mention here. MSNBC has said that Tucker will remain at the network as an at-large commentator, and I have a feeling that, liberated from show-host concerns, he might become even more uninhibited in the expression of his quirkily conservative/libertarian views.
So let's usher Tucker out by focusing on one of our favorite nemeses, Rosa Brooks, the liberal LA Times columnist who appeared on the show's final episode last night. The unreconstructed Obama apologist offered the lamest excuse yet for his failure to have disassociated himself earlier from the ugly rhetoric of Rev. Jeremiah Wright: Barack simply wasnt paying attention in the pews.

Wasn’t listening?! Give me a break. With ears like those, he can pickup UHF.
What nonsense. Obama knew exactly what this guy was/is. There was a quote from Wright himself on one of the threads, given in an interview, where he explained that when Obama first talked to him 20 yrs ago about joining the congregation, WRIGHT himself told Obama that being with Wright would be a ‘radical’ experience. Obama knew from the start he was getting into one of the most far-left and Afrocentric anti-American churches in America.
I’ve watched this guy’s rants on YouTube — no way that he only said those words a couple of times in his life and only when Obama was not around or dozing in a church pew.
There’s no way. The guy is either a liar or a hypocrite.
Either he slept through 20 years in church (you would have thunk he woke up at least when the pastor started humping the pulpit) or he finds nothing offensive with black racist talk.

Nah... stepped outside to drink some iced tea is the standard (D) excuse....:^)
Oh I know how it is. I’ve been known to doze off during the sermon myself.
Just curious... Why was Major Garret asking those questions? Why wasn’t Sean Hannity asking them? Frankly, that interview seemed pretty lame to me and never got as specific as it should have.
I was surprised that Obama would even talk to Fox, since that is supposedly part of the Republican attack machine...maybe he agreed to talk to Major Garrett because he knew him from the campaign, but not to Sean Hannity. Meanwhile he also had an interview with Keith Olberman last night (I didn’t watch that interview).
Maybe not, but he did snort.
(IF LOVIN' THE U.S. IS WRONG) I DON'T WANT TO HEAR WRIGHT
Tune: "(If Lovin' You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" Original
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
If joinin' his church means hearin' his hatred
I'd up and change belongin' tonight
Obama, your pastor says it's a shame
It's a downright disgrace
America's problems, all the blame
Is the fault of the white man's race
Barack, you say it's the future
And healing is in your plan
But if you can't leave this kind of hate
Believe me, yes we can
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
Am I wrong to smell
The sewage he loves to spew?
Knowin' you wanna lead, then why do you waffle
Defendin' you know who?
And am I wrong to question
Your ability to unite,
Knowin' you got someone there at church
Dividin' black and white?
And are you wrong to give your tithe
To a racist man?
And is he wrong for tryin' to get God
Not to bless but instead to damn?
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright . . .
Are you wrong to give your tithe
To a racist man?
And is he wrong for tryin' to get God
Not to bless but instead to damn?
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
If lovin' the U.S. is wrong
I don't want to hear Wright
I don't want to hear Wright
If it means hearin' his hatred
I don't want to hear Wright
If it means black against white . . .
Darn I thought it was a nasty rumor that Tucker was shown the door. Someone mentioned that his making a derogatory comment about the Clinton campaign is what caused it all. Any clue?
Time for us to start calling OHB....Nobama.
Actually it's the strongest. Most men don't
I don’t think it was based on anything he said, just a ratings thing.
I picked up another GEM during that interview (it was with Major Garrett, not H&C):
paraphrase:
I would have quit if I had heard this rhetoric REPEATED (emphasis mine).
So, since he only heard it once from Wright, he stayed at the church.
Que Hee Haw:
Oh you’ll never hear us repeating gossip, so you better be sure to listen close the first time.
