Are you done playing, John?

I know FreeRepublic is not for profit. I understand that any changes that are done to it are "unencumbered" by any feasible plan.
But you are driving me nuts, John!
Think things through from my perspective. I don't have time to play around figuring out all the subtle differences between on Alpha release and the Next.
Do the right thing. Beta. Test. Don't break what isn't broken. Never, ever, do anything that breaks a bookmark.
I understand that playgrounds are fun, but I, for one, don't have time to coddle you whilst you are playing!

I like it too. My only complaint is my total ignorance of how to post a picture. Yes, I’ve tried, but for some reason it doesn’t compute, even after folks have assisted me. Me no good at dat.

"Any chance you could be professional about it?"
Most so-called "professional" sites are full of buggy, resource hogs that either put too much load on servers, clients, or both (PHP, Flash, Java, etc.). The freerepublic.com servers are fast, efficient and good looking so far. Perl is structure-based and can be difficult to modify, but hey, if someone wants to do that kind of work,...

Hey, I love the enhancements and have NO complaints at all!
I especially like the ‘auto-Helen Thomas’ image generator for those ugly threads, and the inverse ‘auto-Ann Coulter’ feature so the rules on *those* threads are ALWAYS followed!
I’m wid it!!! :)

I think that search is that little box in the upper right hand corner with GO in a little box after it. If that is “search” why can’t it just say so to the left of the first box?
To: perfect_rovian_storm
Geek stuff. Just ignore it. Enter your search key, select the search function, and hit Go.

It's very easy.Go to www.tinypic.com. (There are other sites, but I like this one because it is so easy.) Upload your picture using the browse button to search through your machines directories. Once it is uploaded, tinyPic takes you to a page that gives you the exact code you need. Just paste it into your post and Voila!

All that does is make me want to screw around with it until I make it do something that the dropdown doesn’t let me do.
THAT’s geek stuff. :D
